Yes, this works on small boat trailers. It is suitable for most wheel bearing applications.

Can this be used on transmission Output Shaft Seal?

If the seal is coned sticking out passed the face of the seal then this will not work. If the seal is flat you can turn the plate over and it will work fine. Hope this helps.

Dows this work for installing races on a 8.8 diff? Seems like more for seals

This tool is made to install bearing cups (races) for tapered roller bearings. I see no reason that it could not be used to install a bearing cup in any assembly that the tool will fit. You could use the flat side of the disk to install some seals in some circumstances. You could also easily damage a seal using this tool. I will add that the angle machined on the No 8 (ø76mm) and No 9 (81mm) disks is less than the angle machined on the other disks, which prevented the No 8 from properly fitting the taper of the bearing cup that I seated. Fortunately, I could turn the disk over and use the flat side to seat the cup. FYI - The bearing cup that I seated was the inner bearing on the front wheel hubs of a 2002 Nissan Pathfinder, 2WD. You CANNOT use this tool to install the inner seal on this wheel hub!! A wood dowel or small block worked great. I do not want to install bearing cups with out this tool ever again! Good luck on your project!!
