Royal Purple 20-967 Oil Filter

Best filter currently made at this point in time for a Tacoma with 3.5 l v-6. IMHO

much better than junk mobile one

I have cut open mini oil filters when I change the oil to look for contaminants the media inside. This filter is really good. The only drawback is they’re out of them to order more. Can’t find them anywhere.

Was missing directions and o-rings

This filter is pretty much the same as Amsoil and Toyota TRD filter. Except that the Amsoil is $20 with the discount and TRD version is $13 but hard to find. Amsoil and TRD seems to be inspected for any defects before it’s sold to the consumer, but I can’t say the same for Royal Purple. The first Royal purple filter I ordered had glue everywhere inside the metal tube, this is a concern as it can ruin the engine if it becomes loose. So I ordered a second filter and gave it a try again, this one however, was in perfect conditions just as the Amsoil. So I am happy about that, but not happy that I now have to return the first one and waste my time. Overall, this filter is the best you can get. Much better quality than other brands sold here (Wix XP, Purolator Boss, and even Toyota OEM). People may think it’s overkill, but if you care about your car and are planning on keeping it, you don’t want to cheap out on your filter. I still change it every 5K miles and use it with Amsoil XL oil (during summer, here in Arizona) and Mobil one advance fuel economy from Sams club or Walmart ($30-$32 compared to $60 for Amsoil XL). Nice filters but came in a Bag not a box. Filter boxes very beaten up in shipping from being sent in a bag. Fortunately filters look to be undamaged
