Cobalt Drill Bits 6.0mm x 2pcs M35 HSS Drill Bit for Metal, AlTiN Coating, Standard DIN 338

A good quality drill bit. I had to put 27 x 6 mm holes in a 316 stainless 3mm sheet, which would normally require several drill bits, or re-tickling the cutting edge of the same bit several times. Well you can imagine my suprise when all 27 holes were drilled with the same bit. Upon completion of the holes, I inspected the bit, there was only nominal wear, which impressed me. I must point out that I used a good quality cutting paste which helps to ensure protection of the bits edge. This means you get more production per drill bit. The drill bits are made from top quality metals and finished to a very high standard, ensuring a good clean hole. These bits also go through mild steeel like a hot knife through butter. These drill bits in my opinion are realy great value for money as their durability far exceeds most other jobber bits. So for the above mentioned reasons the Hilpaty Cobalt 6.00 mm Drill Bits get a thumbs up from me. Measure twice drill once.

Not a lot to say really, these are drill bits and do what drill bits should do! They are very sharp and seem to be well made and tough so I expect they will last a long time if used properly and care is taken when drilling metals to ensure they are kept lubricated with oil or cutting paste and not allowed to become too hot in use. They make a quick clean cut and make light work of drilling holes. Nicely packaged in a small plastic case. A 'bit' expensive, but hopefully they will last a long time so they should be good value.

Drill bits are well machined and are sharp. As you can see in the picture they come in a little plastic box which is useful if you tend to just throw your drill bits into you toolbox. I used the drill bit on a thin bit of metal sheeting and it drilled through quickly without any issues. I've not yet tried them on thicker metal

Quality & Size: Upon first glance, the quality of these 6.0mm M35 Cobalt drill bits seems quite decent. I received the two-piece set, which comes in a simple but protective plastic case. The bits feel solid and have a professional look to them right out of the box. Usability: In terms of performance, these have a standard spiral flute and a very well-machined finish. They fit securely into my drill without any wobble. The edges and the tip are noticeably sharp; they perform very well on wood and bite into thin metal with ease. The AlTiN coating is a nice touch, and the overall machining suggests they are built to a high standard. Overall & Final Thoughts: While the performance is good, I find them to be overpriced at £4.50 per drill bit. With any drill bit, wear and tear is a reality, and replacements are inevitable regardless of the coating. For a DIY user or even for general use, I'm not sure the quality justifies such a high price tag compared to other options on the market. They are great bits, but the cost makes them hard to fully recommend.

Used this 13mm cobalt drill bit yesterday to drill through an aluminium block, needed to make a long hole's diameter bigger, this did a good job, made the job easy. Measurements of this bit is correct, good solid bit, only used once so far, hoping to get good use out of this. Came in it's own hard plastic storage case.

È da quando ho iniziato a costruirmi da solo le staffe per i pannelli porta attrezzi in garage che combatto con il problema delle forature sul metallo, specialmente quando mi capita di dover bucare l'acciaio inox o dei ferri un pò più temprati del solito, perchè pultroppo le punte nere classiche che si trovano nei set economici del supermercato durano quanto un gatto in tangenziale. Mi è capitato diverse volte di trovarmi a metà di un lavoro, magari di domenica pomeriggio, con la punta che invece di tagliare il metallo iniziava a fischiare e a diventare rossa, arrotondandosi in punta e costringendomi a spingere come un disperato sul trapano a colonna, col risultato di scaldare tutto e non concludere niente. Ero stanco di buttare via soldi in materiale scadente che si brucia al terzo foro, quindi ho voluto fare un tentativo cercando qualcosa di specifico al cobalto, sperando che la dicitura M35 non fosse solo marketing ma sostanza vera. Ho scelto questa misura da 6,5 millimetri perchè è quella che uso di più per far passare i bulloni da 6 con un minimo di gioco, e appena arrivate ho notato che il rivestimento scuro, che dovrebbe essere AlTiN se non ricordo male la sigla, gli dà un aspetto diverso dalle solite punte dorate al titanio che spesso sono solo verniciate. La prima prova l'ho fatta su una piattina di acciaio inox da 4 millimetri che dovevo forare per fissare una morsa, e devo dire che la differenza si sente subito appena appoggi la punta sul pezzo. Grazie all'angolo di affilatura che mi sembra più ottuso del solito, credo sia 135 gradi, la punta non "cammina" in giro per il pezzo appena accendi il trapano, ma morde quasi subito il metallo creando il centro senza bisogno di aver punzonato in modo esagerato prima. Tuttavia, bisogna dire le cose come stanno per chi non è esperto di lavorazioni meccaniche: queste punte tagliano molto bene, ho visto uscire dei trucioli lunghi e continui invece della solita polvere metallica, il che è un ottimo segno, ma sono anche più fragili se le usate male. Essendo molto dure per via del cobalto, se piegate il trapano manuale mentre siete dentro il foro rischia di spezzarsi di netto, quindi serve una mano ferma o meglio ancora un supporto a colonna. Inoltre, ho notato che scaldano comunque se non state attenti, quindi il mio consiglio pratico, che ho imparato a mie spese in passato, è di non farle girare a mille all'ora come se steste bucando il legno. Dovete tenere i giri bassi, molto bassi, e usare assolutamente un lubrificante, che sia olio da taglio specifico o anche del semplice olio motore se non avete altro, l'importante è che la punta resti unta e fredda, altrimenti anche il miglior rivestimento del mondo si cuoce e addio affilatura. Per come la vedo io, se rispettate queste due regole, queste due punte vi dureranno una vita per l'uso hobbistico, io ne ho usata una sola per fare una ventina di fori su ferro e inox ed è ancora tagliente come appena uscita dalla scatola, mentre l'altra la tengo di scorta nel cassetto sapendo che non mi lascerà a piedi. Certo, spendere questa cifra per due sole punte può sembrare tanto rispetto ai pacchi da dieci cinesi, ma il tempo e la rabbia risparmiati valgono la spesa.

Muy buenas brocas para metales. Vienen en un paquete de protección con las indicaciones del material y medidas de las brocas. Las he probado en una pieza de aluminio y ni siquiera se han marcado. Ha perforado el aluminio como si fuese papel. Muy recomendables.

El pack recibido está constituido por 10 brocas son 2 mm diametro x 49 mm de longitud, y según especificaciones en la cara principal de estuche son Hss-Co. Según el reverso del estuche son Hss-AlTiN. Este conjunto de brocas viene en estuche de plástico para su almacenaje y conservación. Desconozco si las brocas tienen recubrimiento AlTiN, Co o ambos. El estuche no lo indica con suficiente claridad. La diferencia entre ambos recubrimiento es la durabilidad, y esta sólo se puede comprobar a lo largo del tiempo. En principio la he probado con aluminio y ha ido bien, pero tanto las brocas Hss-Co, Hss-AlTiN como las Hss-Co recubrimiento AlTiN van bien cuando el número de agujeros realizados con ellas es reducido. Esta incertidumbre en las especificaciones es la que me lleva a poner 3 estrellas.
