There is a screw that sticks out that is used to adjust the height of the handle that has a hook on it. I thought this might serve as an extra hook to hang things from but because of its orientation when fully screwed in, it cannot function like a hook because the hook part faces down. So I'm not entirely sure why this height adjusting screw is in the shape of a hook when it can't function as a hook. It just looks weird and unsightly. Overall, this hanger isn't terrible. It just can't support the weight of a regular purse. It holds a variety of purses well and works great for displaying them. I love that it is adjustable, so it can accommodate different sizes of purses. I put a large Dooney bag on it for the picture—everyone knows how heavy those bags can be! It handled the weight well with no issues, so it can support a good amount of weight. It's a great value. You could probably use it at home as well. It really makes a handbag look like a piece of art.
