I would get again. Opens bottles so easy. Also works with ie sticky honey flip-open tops. Quality old-fashioned like product. Not plastic. Makes things easy on my hands.

This is the closest thing I could find to the vintage Wizard jar openers. They were the best. This is the best replacement.

I've canned my produce for 40 years and never knew about these little lid lifters. When I saw this, I didn't think it would really be much help, but it was cheap so I ordered it. What a deal! It makes it so much easier to get the lid out of the hot water! I don't burn my fingers and don't risk touching the sealing side of the lid. It's a great little invention to help us in the kitchen at canning time.

Great for putting leftovers into smaller containers

This is a great jar lifter for canning. It was easy to use and I felt I had a good grip on the hot jars. It had the traditional design and was very sturdy. It is fairly lightweight but still stabile.

Growing up on the family farm, I would slip into the kitchen to watch my mother and grandmother can pretty much anything that would fit in a jar. Although men and boys in the kitchen were tolerated at about the same level as rats in the corn crib, I was able to pick up on a few things. I would watch my grandmother use a butter knife (oh yeah, that looked safe!) and my mother smacking the bottom of the jar against the palm of her hand or a towel folded on the counter. What I learned from watching both scenarios was that there must be tool somewhere to make the task of removing trapped air from canning jars more simple. I had to wait 35 years, but I finally found it this summer when I bought this tool. It works perfectly in a widemouth jar and almost as well in a standard mouth jar. It is also long enough to reach the bottom of a quart jar and still have enough room to hold it. The magnet is also very strong. If not careful, you can pick up too lids rather than one. I cannot attest to whether or not it is dishwasher safe, because I am afraid that the magnet was put in with a glue that would give way under extreme heat. If you try it and it stays in place, please let me know.All in all, a perfect little canning tool. Enjoy!

This is an essential kitchen tool I didn't know I needed. When it comes any kind of jars or glasses this is exactly what I needed. It does a great job and does it well. Highly recommended.
