I use the digital Outlander Series to search individual passages easily
I own all of these books in hardback and have re-read them several times. I wanted to buy them digitally, but didnt want to spend the extra money until they put them together in one place. I purchased the digital version to make re-reading them easier and to be able to do a "word search" looking for particular passages when my friend and I can't remember who did what, or when, or prove what color someone's hair is. This may sound trite to some, but after you've read these books as many times as I have you'll understand.I have just downloaded an update to the digital book set and scanned through quickly to see what the updade was all about. From my quick look, so far, it does seem easier to manauver through the separate books from the contents page. I'm hoping it took care of the few "truly" mispelled words, but can't tell right now because my highlights and notes have been removed, to which I agreed before downloading tbe update.I DO read other books too, not just these. But the story became an old friend and I enjoy reliving it every couple of years. I'm disabled because of a back injury and can't work any longer, so I have a lot of time on my hands. But this story is worth the time. Claire, Jamie, Ian, Jenny, Brianna, Roger Mac, and the rest feel like part of my family.I agree with a comment I saw about all the repeating of previous passages a little too often, but while living overseas in 2001 I first purchased what turned out to he Book 5, "The Fiery Cross", because when in the States I live in Western North Carolina and was a little homesick. I immediately had to order the first 4 books to see exactly what was going on and now don't need all the backstory. So like that reviewer, "scan carefully" through those passages. I can endure it because someone else, like me, might find only one not thinking it's a series and buy the wrong book first.Bottom line, if you're a fan of the series and re-read them (as do some of us), get off the fence and purchase "The Outlander Series." After you've tried to scan through the individual books to find out what happened after they shaved Claire's head or you want to re-read a love scene you've been trying to find, you'll be happy you have it all (almost all) in one spot. Now all I think they need to do is make an update that includes the latest book and I'd be happy.

Wow. What a remembrance.
These books are ones you won't forget.Jamie and Claire will always be a couple that are so life like. They age, they have more downs in life than ups, but they never forget their love for each other.I would highly recommend these books. You must have book eight!!I started these books about two months ago. They aren't stand-alone books. This is book 8 of at least 9 for this series. While I can say I enjoyed them, there are parts over indulging, and long winded. Also it's amazing how much a true to the fact history can fit into a fictional love story. Here are some of the things I've learned while reading The Outlander series..How to understand and read most Gaelic like the American's read English. The use of all herbs and the Home Remedies Encyclopedia. The step by step instructions on home to do home surgery. With or without ether. What's really underneath a kilt. All the functions of a kilt. The importance of genealogy. The bigamy isn't against the law as long as your husband's are in different centuries. The difference between an English and Scot's temperament. That we have to many shades of red and orange in the Crayola box.The proper way to load and shoot a musket (also how to remove the pellets from thy intestine).African rituals. That time travel mail works so much better than the Postal Mail. (Why didn't we all think of that?)How to properly kill, skin, and smoke an animal (for needs of clothing, food, and anything else you would need to survive)(I think Jamie would give Bear Grylls a run for his money)101 ways to escape prison and being captured.Everything you would ever want to know on being Quaker, Catholic, or Protestant. How to hide gold (by melting it down into everyday objects)How to make paper (step by step) hi-gloss or low-gloss. You can also do scented paper. How to make your own plumbing system. Also witchcraft, you may want to leave this to the professionals. You could end up with STD's or dead.I'm just going to cut this off here. Or I could go on for days of all the "how to" manuals in the contents of these pages.I must say throughout though, even with the must boring things of gardening, or picking herbs, the author has a unique way of keeping the reader intrigued throughout this series.

Story actually in 9 books
Love the story and her writing style. Unfortunately the set did not include books 8 and 9.

Awesome Books
Despite the short delay due to the COVid19 pandemic, the few extra days of wait were well worth it. I feel like it's Christmas because I am that thrilled with the books - and much to my surprise, totally new and such a wonderful set. I have some very antique bookends made like 18th century cannons that were used during the battles at the time and these books are going to get a place of honor within them. Such a writer, and what a series on T.V.The actors and writers portraying the series are so good. Thank you to Amazon and Lakeside Books for this order.

The Outlander Series 7-Book Bundle: Outlander, Dragonfly in Amber, Voyager, Drums of Autumn, The Fiery Cross, A Breath of Snow a

Very Poor Quality
This set of books came to me in very poor quality. They were all well used and I would describe them as fair to poor. One in the set has the spine broken and many pages look like someone has tried to glue them back in. Upon opening it the glue cracked. I don't know how I will read that one. Advertised as Used - Very Good but not at all.

Paperback quality
collection but book quality is not high. Edges of books and spines are damaged from transit. Not very robust print quality. Can’t expect much from paperbacks

Happy With Books
I like that they are soft cover...not huge...so a book will fit in my satchel! Books are in good used condition...not suitable for gifting....but they are for me...so I'm fine with them as is.
