Got to be five stars, goes without saying.
Book two and back in full swing by page 10. And guess what! It never slows down, based in the San Fran Cisco area, the surviver strapped by the oncoming hoard, make way to the Nimitz aircraft carrier that had ran aground in the bay.Split into three groups they set of to clear the Nimitz of the walking dead, there is multiple stories happening all at the same time, all within the belly of the aircraft carrier.Very difficult to put this book down, but sometimes I just had to stop reading so I could clear my head and start again.John Campbell has worked another masterpiece of Zombie fiction, trying to fight inside all those tight places could only result in many deaths, and it does.Read and enjoy.

So Good You Won’t Want to Put It Down
Another great book in the Omega Days series. Campbell does an amazing job of keeping the tension and excitement high in each chapter. You’ll be on the edge or you seat as you root for your favorite characters to survive. The realistic responses and actions of each character make this novel stand out amongst the hundreds of zombie novels before it.Gotta go now, I’ve got the third book in the series to read.Another hint that this book is great...I bought a kindle version to read even though I had already started listening to it as a free audiobook. 👏👏👏👏👏

ANOTHER 5 STAR RATING FOR JOHN L. CAMPBELL.
This is definitely a 5 star rating as the stakes get higher than they've ever been for Father Xavier, Angie, Skye, Carney and their groups as they all come together for one final showdown and what they hope will be their last dealing with the living dead. They head for the USS NIMITZ, hoping they can clear it of the dead and have a safe harbor for their loved ones and friends, as it's just out in the bay, dead in the water, but roaming with thousands of the dead and no way around it, they have to clear it from the deepest crawlspace to the top of the Island. But little do they know they have someone even worse than the dead in their midst. John L. Campbell has done another amazing job with this story and this is one book you don't want to end. This is one series you don't want to put down.

The continuation of a great series
This series is very, very good and even, occasionally, great! Ship of the Dead continues with good character development, good dialogue, and the blending of realistic reactions to unreal situations make for great reading. Given how many mediocre series have thousands of reviews I am honestly surprised that there aren't 10X more reviews praising these books!

A continual buildup from the first novel, even better and worse, depending on one's perspective. Loved it!
(un-)Holy walking drifters!! This novel ratcheted up the action at least tenfold. It is definitely a nail-biting page-turner from the beginning. Picking up where the first one ("Omega Days") left off and only gets tighter, hairier, tenser, bloodier and even more gory than that. The survivors and tag-longs fight every inch of the way, from the drifters to outsiders to one another, toward a goal that seems suicidal and downright impossible. I finished off this book in record time (my eyes are still burning) and cannot WAIT until January 2015 for the next installment. It ends on an ominous note, but you can't tell by that if it's the good guys or an unknown who is down to be eaten or re-animated. This author is very clever in dodges and swerves, leading you to believe the inevitable only in the next chapter or so that what you hoped wasn't true really isn't. Or maybe it is, the good go down with the bad. He will outline and define a character only to have them die off in the next sentence, so don't get too attached until the end of the book. And even that isn't a given.

great read!!!!
As a retired USN CAPTAIN ,I was aboard the Nimitz, so the description during the several fights in the ship were extremely accurate. I read Omega days sometime ago, and I am waiting for the following book in Jan 2015. Well written, several stories all knitted together .Characters well developed and again excellent story line ,somebody should make a movie out of this book. I can see the scenes in the carrier ,would be amazing , hoping somebody who could read the script and follows through. One of the best ,if not the best Z book , I have read .

Second book, same as the first!
I blew thru the first book so fast and on to the second.....it was equally as fast paced as all his other books. Love the idea of riding out the Zombie Apocalypse on a carrier off shore. Again I was late to the party and only just now read this one after it was published in 2014! When’s the next book coming out????

Does the genre service
Having read the first book in the series because it was free and took place in my home town area I was pleasantly surprised by the author. I couldn't wait for book two and tried my best to stretch it out not wanting it to end. Thankfully book three is around the corner and from the glimpse I read, it's going to be awesome. Maybe even better, he seems more confident in his writing.

Buy this now! You won't be able to put it down.
Picks up where the previous book left off, this book is just as entertaining as the first book. It has more zombie goodness, mixed with the human element where not all people have the best of intentions.Great characters, interesting plot, and a satisfying conclusion to this novel's story, but that carries over into Book 3.A must purchase for anyone who enjoys zombie or apocalyptic settings.
