I picked up this glowing football to see if it would tempt them out onto the lawn, and I must say it has been absolutely great for little strikers. It is genuinely lovely to see them happily running about on the grass and having a proper kickabout long after the sun has gone down. The build quality is impressively robust, featuring a durable construction with tough outer panels and reinforced seams that can easily handle being booted against the garden fence night after night. Despite being so tough, it maintains a very nice soft touch outer, so it does not sting the shins if a pass goes slightly astray. The real magic, though, is the built in LEDs that brilliantly illuminate on touch. There are no fiddly switches to worry about, meaning the glowing fun starts the absolute second you kick it. A Complete Set and Fantastic Value Setting it up was a total breeze because it arrives as a complete ready to play set. It cleverly includes 1 pump and a handy battery replacement tool right in the box. Even better, the required three LR44 button cell batteries are actually included, so there is no frantic dash to the shops on a Sunday afternoon. When it comes to value for money, I reckon it is an absolute bargain for the sheer amount of outdoor entertainment it provides. The main pros are the wonderfully bright lights, the sturdy build, and the fact that it comes with all the necessary accessories straight out of the box. The only slight negative is that you will eventually need to stock up on replacement button batteries when the original ones inevitably run out after a few weeks of heavy play. All in all, I highly recommend this if you are looking for a fantastic, active gift to keep the whole family entertained outdoors.

I can already tell this is going to be one of those toys that gets used constantly. This glow football has been a brilliant find. It’s a full size 5 football, so it feels like a proper ball rather than a cheap novelty toy. The outer material has a nice soft touch and the panels feel durable enough for garden games, beach kicking, and general kid chaos. The seams look strong and once pumped up it holds its shape really well. The LED lights activate when the ball moves or is kicked, which honestly looks really cool at night. There’s no switch or setup. You literally just kick it and it lights up automatically. My oldest had it pumped up within about five minutes of it arriving and immediately put it on display in her room. The glow is surprisingly bright in the dark, so she’s actually started using it as a very unconventional night light. She’s got it sitting on a ball ring stand in her bedroom and when she gets up in the night to go to the toilet she just gives it a little tap as she walks past. The lights come on and give off a soft glow which is enough to guide her across the landing without switching lights on. Not the intended use… but it works! It comes with a pump and battery tool, which is handy because you can get it inflated and ready to use straight away. The batteries are already included and are easy to replace when needed. For the price, I think it’s great value for money. It’s a proper usable football but with the added glow feature that makes evening games so much more fun. I can already see this being perfect for beach evenings, garden kickabouts, and those “one more goal before bed” moments.
