Element CaseShadow Drop Tested case for iPhone iPhone XS/X - Black (EMT-322-192EY-01)

I purchased this case as a replacement for a UAG case I had on my iPhone X that had begun falling apart, and I couldn’t be happier! It’s a solid case, that appears to have ample shock absorption material throughout. It feels slim in your hands and has a non slip backing and outer edge for excellent grip. You won’t ever have to worry about it slipping from your hands. The front side edge is also raised slightly, which provides adequate screen protection. The side buttons are recessed just enough where they’re not intrusive but provide a solid tactical feel. Another plus, the space around the lighting port is nice and wide to accept a wide range of charging cables and docks. Last but not least, no issues using a wireless charger with this case. It works perfectly. All in all, it really is a nice case at a very reasonable price. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a stylish case with solid drop protection.UPDATE - After having used this case for a few months now, and even after a few unfortunate drops and falls, I’m happy to report the case and the iPhone it is protecting, have held up exceptionally well. No chips, cracks or broken anything! My phone has survived waist and chest high drops onto all sorts of hard flooring, including concrete, without any adverse damage. The case has also faired well, with better than average wear and tear. Far exceeding my expectations.

This case is pretty much as described. It is sturdy and stylish. The reason I bought this phone was because I was willing to pay a little more for a product made in the USA. THIS PHONE IS MADE IN CHINA. The LinkedIn page for Element Case claims their “beautifully crafted products are made in the USA.” There are other websites that claim this company sells cases made in the USA. Can anyone confirm if any of their cases are made in the USA? I’m a little more than disappointed. There are plenty of sturdy and stylish MIL-SPEC drop tested phones made in China for less than $10. I would have given more stars but I feel the Value for the $$ is not there. I don’t care what anyone says; Made in the USA adds value.

For $35, I can get a way better case. The buttons feel cheap. The volume switch is hard to get to. The color (blue) is much darker in real life. The inside of the case is hard plastic, which I didn’t care for.

First, I have to say I've been using EC cases since my first iPhone 4. I always love their esthetics, unique design, and unmatched quality! This particular case has a unique design with quality execution and premium feel materials. As a lower-priced EC option case, it is the best-looking one! Your iPhone XS will stand out for sure! Understated elegance and simplicity of precisely fitted case are bar none! However, my hands are not big enough for iPhone XS to have a secure grip while trying to handle the phone in one hand. Because the edges of the case are great-looking polished plastic, they tend to be slippery. The back of the case compensates for the slippery handling of its sides, but not enough for my liking. If you have larger hands with long fingers, this case will suit you well. Also, if you don't handle the phone in one hand, then the grip would not even be an issue. For the price, it's an excellent option if you want to have a unique and sophisticated case.

I wasn't really sure I would like this case. But I really do like it. I seriously struggled trying to find something I would like. I ended up with the blue one. Easy to put on, fits snuggly. Phone sit low in the case so the screen is protected. There’s no screen protector so I bought the glass screen protector for it. The speakers aren’t blocked (as shown). Doesn’t muffle the sound and everyone can hear me just fine. Easy access to the mute switch, buttons are easy to press. The camera is recessed (as shown in the picture) which will help protect it if it gets dropped. I just got this but I’m already impressed. The feel overall is great. Not thin but not too thick. I like the way the sides are kinda curved to allow for a comfortable grip. The back is kinda textured so it’s not slippery. Again, I’m impressed with this case considering I wasn’t sure I would ever find a case that I liked.

Let me tell yuh. I love this case! My husband has a thicker version in this brand and swore by it. Because I seem to always have accidents, when he bought me the new iPhone he said you need this case. But I hated the one he had. Wasn’t cute and didn’t fit comfortably in my small hands. So I get to lookin on amazon and find this one. SO GLAD I ordered this! I love the black with the blue. It’s so soft but not slippery. It doesn’t slide across a smooth table or counter. Now I accidentally put it to the test. Like I said, accident-prone. I’m a busy forgetful mom of 4. I was warmer a stove top and put my phone down on the opposite side of stove top. But I turned on the wrong side. So I’m heating up my two day brand new phone and turn around and see a tiny pit of smoke and quickly pick it up to see the plastic stringing off the stove and it’s so hot I have to quickly put it down on counter. I push phone out as soon as I can bare to touch it. The phone was heated and turned off from over heating. After cooling, When it came on it was perfectly fine other than the camera which isn’t protected, it wasn’t visibly broke but the lens inside was messed up because It was just an all over blur when I turned camera on. The case was a bit melted outside but what was cool is the inside wasn’t touched! So I was able to have a phone other than front camera until I turned in with insurance and got a new one. When I got the new one I immediately ordered the exact case again! Toddler has dropped it from cart and it’s in percent new condition still! Don’t even have those scratches on corners you sometimes get if it drops hard. So yea, 5 star for me!

Quality is good but the design is not well thought. The opening for the camera is too big and leave space for dust. Plastic is slippery and hard. Good quality, but something is wrong with this case. I had to replace it after a couple of months.

This is a very elegant and sporty looking case. The perforated backplate has a soft rubber coated feel and the buttons have great response. The black gloss finish trim is easy to scratch but is not noticeable. It has just enough front lip to protect with a tempered glass screen protector on. The beveled sides do make it easier to grip the device. The camera cut out is quite large and is prone to get dust and lint. It can be hard to remove the device for cleaning as the side TPU is quite rigid and very close fit. Overall it looks like it can protect the phone but wished it had a soft inner tpu vs hard pc back to absorb shock if the phone is accidentally dropped. I recommend it when the price is on reduced/sale (bought around $15) and not full price.

Only 4 stars because the seller sent me the wrong size, and it’s way too big for my model. It feels like it will be a great case, nice and strong and feels nice to hold, just wish the seller had more options to handle issues than to just return it. That knocked off a star.

Really like the look and the quality of the case. It looks classy too.

I'm not sure I like this case, it's quite bulky and doesn't fit tight in the corners. Also the camera cutout doesn't look nice.
