A reflective story
Whole novel is written in conversational note and self reflection. Story is good but not really fairy tale. It is more about working n learning from mistakes no matter how painful that is.I felt u have to have time n really read to enjoy it. Well written n interesting.

Entertaining but disjointed
I enjoyed the beginning of this book but the more I read the harder it became. It moved too fast in the last quarter and ended oddly.

You need to buy the second and third book in the series
I wish when Amazon offered "free" books, that you didn't have to purchase the next books in the series. Why bother? It's ridiculous to have to purchase the following books. That's how they hook you into thinking that the books are free. Sure, the first one is, but it leaves you hanging at the end. I now skip to the end of the book and if it's to be continued, I delete it.

Yuck
Decent premise, but tge book was ruined for me by the horrible fat shaming and cruel and/or shallow characters. Disappointing.

good
The synopsis is a bit ambigous and not to take literally since it is a metaphor. Anyway i liked it.

Frog Prince
The Frog Prince by Jane PorterStory starts out being about Holly and we find out about her upbringing and her past. She's in San Francisco and I love the descriptions of the places I've yet to visit although we did drive through the city once. She's getting over her loss of love for her spouse and they are heading to divorce. She relocated to the city and is in charge of events and planning them. She ends up dating a bit but finds a long ago friend Katie and she enjoys the time she spends with her and her buddies. She's had a few dates and they are just disasters.Holly feels she gets along with others at work but Olivia, her boss is out to get her and she does.Love how she comes up to the plate and good things happen to her. the princess. Not a typical Jane Porter book it's so indepth character building, real deep down thoughts with her Mom and sister.Like how she comes out on top. Other works by the author are highlighted and excerpted at the end.Free on Amazon and this is my honest opinion.

Self-discovery and coming-of-age
Holly gets married and four days into their honeymoon, is good that her husband never loved her. Ten months after walking down the aisle, Holly is in the middle of a divorce, in a new city, working a new job, and is stuck as she tries to figure out why life doesn't have the happy endings that are in all the fairytales her mother read to her constantly when she was a kid.I have mixed feelings about this book. I like that Holly overcomes her insecurities. I like that she finds a happy medium in her tumultuous relationship with her mom. I love that she realizes her husband is the loser, not her. I don't love that it seems to take forever for her to realize any of this. Some of the chapters are a bit too long for my personal taste. The ending is great though!

Redundant
I really wanted to like the story. I liked the concept and I love the moral, but too many times I found myself putting the book down in frustration, boredom or irritation. The first half of the book was nothing but the negative inner dialogue of someone fairly pathetic and the second half was pieces of an actual story interrupted by (again) negative inner dialogue. Conversations between 2 characters would stretch for a whole chapter because a character would say one line and the inner dialogue started up for 2 pages, then another conversation line or 2 and then 2-3 more pages of rambling inner dialogue. I think I skipped pages at a time just to try and get back to the actual storyline.

Moms
Who knew that the fairy tales our mom's told us would mess us up as we get older. Be the good girl. Holly Bishop fell for the fairy tale and when her marriage fell apart, she was devastated. How was she going to survive. She gets a job working for events planning company. Her boss is mean. In the months to come she slowly climbs out of the rut. She makes friends, goes out on a date and gets fired. Through all of this, she couldn't go to her mom for anything. They fight about everything. In the end, she makes peace with her mom.

Starting over
After a disastrous marriage of 10 months, Holly decided to move to San Francisco from Fresno. Having been an event planner in Fresno, she's hired by City Events, one of the top event planners in the bay area. Though expectations are high, Holly works hard and is reliable, even beginning to bring in new business to the company. She faces bad to terrible blind dates, getting to know co-workers, hoping to make friends, and lots of parking tickets. You're cheering for Holly to be able to move beyond her wounded heart and ego and make a new life in the big city, a life filled with happiness and love.A very well written and touching book. Completely enjoyable, possibly except the nightmarish blind dates. : )

Slow start, but well worth the read.
I had a really hard time getting into this story, but finally after a few chapters in I finally got the whole concept. I didn't much like Holly at first, she was just too whiny, but after she finally stopped the boo-hooing, I really started to like her better. But it was when she finally found her back-bone, that she really won me over.I could help but laugh at that whole scene in the costume boutique. That was so, so hilarious.

THE FROG PRINCE
this book is the first book i ever read by Jane Porter. i love Holly's story; it reminded me of a person who is near and dear to me.Holly struggles with herself after going through a bad, short marriage. She has to come to terms with many things. She has to realize her happy ending can be attained by choosing it for herself. She has the power within herself to make it happen.

The worst
So sorry, I hate to give bad reviews, but this was probably the worst book I've ever read. I made it through half way and skimmed the last part to the end. I'm not sure what the point of the book was, but it wasn't a romance.....it's time spent that I'll never get back. If I could have given it minus stars, I would have...one star is way too generous.
