What a GREAT -- no, INCREDIBLE light!
We have an area at our office building, an upper deck with entryway, that has no outside light. We could get something wired in, but not very easily, given that it is a cinder block building and there isn't any wiring close to draw from, plus, it's the hassle of installation, and another light to forget to leave on or forget to turn off. So, this seemed ideal -- a motion activated porch light for the times we are accessing that door, after dark, which happens frequently for our later shift. I mounted this right in the upper corner of the rather wide wooden door sill (so I didn't have to deal with the cinder block), and it's a gem! Works GREAT!The outside security lighting we have does not reach that doorway, so, even though our back parking lot is fairly well lit, this light still pops on reliably whenever we are using that upstairs back door at night. The only issue we had was that, if the inside upstairs was well lit, then, when you opened the door from the inside, at night, this light did not kick on, because there was too much light coming through the windows of the door itself, and so the sensor did not sense enough darkness to know to turn the light on, when motion was sensed (the door opening, for example). We could maybe have gotten around that with trial and error of location, maybe, but I found that just leaving off the inside lamps nearest the door dimmed things down enough for the sensor to know that it is "night" and pop the light on when the door is opened from inside. So, problem solved, and it now also acts as a motion sensor warning, given that, if someone is at the back door, we see the light kick on and shine in through the back door window. So, a terrific product, does what it says, won't run down batteries because it only comes on as needed, is easily mounted and aimed wherever you want it to shine, and throws a BRIGHT and fairly wide spot of light. It is a "spot light" kind of light, so, good to keep in mind that it does not (and is not designed to) shine beyond where it is pointed really, but, if you are looking for a quick area light with no wiring issues, that is motion activated, this is a great light and I highly recommend it!***** UPDATE: December, 2013: Just wanted to say that, not only is this light still going strong, but it's still on the SAME ORIGINAL batteries from installing it, back in January of this year, and showing no signs of significant dimming, WOW!!! That will be a year of use, in a few weeks, on the same batteries. Light is still working GREAT!!! Needless to say, Mr. Beams ROCKS!!!

Powerful little light!
I was looking for a security light for a portion of my front yard that can be quite dark at night.Like many others, I didn't want to go through the hassle of wiring anytihng myself or having to pay an electrician to install a light. The solar versions didn't convince me at all. Plus they can be very pricey and unreliable. I also knew a solar version wouldn't have worked for me where I needed to put a security light, as there isn't a lot of direct sunlight there. Then I stumbled across this little guy. I keep saying little because I was surprised how small it was. I just expected something a little bigger from the pictures I saw.**Side note: Small is good for me, I didn't want some big eye sore in the front of my house.**This light is surprisingly powerful for such a small device. It taked three(3) D cell batteries, which is probably why it's so strong. I also like the "white" light that emits from the LED light it has. Really liked the that it can turn 360 degrees also.Installing it was a breeze. There are two options for installation that are suggested in the instructions, I highly suggest you go with the "easy" option. One screw. One hole. They couldn't make it any easier for you. Now, like many others have said....if you're looking for a traditional spot light or flood light....don't get this. This light is powerful, but it can't match those that are actually wired in. It's coverage area can also vary from 10-20ft...depending on how you install it.This light is perfect for those that want to add light to a location with little to no light. The sensitivity is also very impressive. I also really like the 30 second timer. Other buyers seemed annoyed or disappointed that this light doesn't come with an adjustable timer. I personally don't mind. Plus, this light will stay on if there is continuous motion detected. I won't just detect motion, then turn off after 30 seconds, regardless if there is motion or not.Another thing that impressed me was that I noticed the manufacturer would respond to all bad reviews for this product trying to fix any issues that the buyer was having. I appreciate a company that cares about it's customers. All in all. For this price., and this quality of product....you really can't find a better deal. Especially if you're getting this as a safety or security addition.I highly recommend this product.

Does a good job for the price
Purchased Jan 2021, a year ago and mostly satisfied with product. One of the units began to go dim within a few months and then stopped working. (Inside looks fine and I cant' figure out what failed.) Some of the reviews mentioned water intrusion into the lights so I tightly wrapped the seams with layers of duct tape before final mounting and they remained weather proof during a wet stormy winter. I recommend doing so or finding some other way to keep them sealed from water. My batteries in 2 of the 3 working lights are still going strong after a full year of mostly sporadic use.Pros: Good price, 2 of 3 work as well as described and bright light with (mostly) good motion sensors and quite easy to install.Cons: Maybe if installed high up, animals may not trigger the sensor (my 45 pound Aussie can run underneath one of them without the light going on) and the light doesn't stay on very long after he leaves the range . That light goes on when I'm still 8 feet away. Since the dog can run through the sensor range, I'm guessing the racoons and skunks can slip past also. Animals (mine and wild ones) were the primary reason I wanted these in the backyard. All said, I'm satisfied enough with these lights to purchase a few more this spring.

Well worth the price
Got the 3 pack and set up at my RV in June 2021. the spotlights can be angled and positioned as desired. The sensors work great and they give off a good amount of light. At end of season, simply removed the spotlight and left the base still attached which made it super easy to set up for 2022. With the amount of use they got, I thought they might go through alot of batteries but they are still working with the Amazon Basic D cell batteries installed in them in June 2021 (I did remove the batteries from them and stored in a warm place for the winter). Highly recommend both.

great value for the money
I never expected such a nice little light for the money. I installed it outside on the side of my door. We don't want t a light on all the time because of too many bugs in the summer. The light is great. It comes on as soon as I open the door and I have enough time to trigger the second spot light a bit away from the door. It only stays on for 1 minute and that is just perfect for not attracting bugs. It comes on as soon as I get closer but if the other light is still on doesn't come on. Again, that is well timing because it makes the battery last longer.I probably will get another one.

Brilliant effective great value
Nothing I don't like. Was curious and did not expect much so was careful with not over spending.Yes they need batteries. No idea how long they'll last but these turn off within about a minute. Light penetration and spread is surprisingly good. No trouble walking in yard in pitch black night.Movement activation is EXCELLENT and quite a range. This was so surprising.Easy to install. Rugged robust and look and feel is nice. Get weighty with 3 big batteries.Great product that does its job so well.
