Gentle, effective for oily skin, very affordable
I’ve been using the Deaconson Original Witch Hazel Toner for 2–3 years and really like it. All the ingredients are Yuka App approved, safe and clean, and the bottle is large and economical. I usually use it only when my face gets oily or I have a lot of breakouts. This toner is great for cleansing oily skin—it leaves my face feeling very clean without being harsh. I haven’t noticed a significant reduction in pimples, but I enjoy using it whenever my skin feels extra oily.

A Complete Game Changer!
This product is a game changer! I've used several toners but NOTHING comes remotely close to this! I dont have sensitive skin but I've had bad experiences with toners before that was too harsh on my skin but this baby is perfect and potent. It doesn't irritate my skin at all and I have been using it for quite some time now. I am currently on my second bottle and will be repurchasing soon. I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone who is big on hygiene and facial care. It can also be used under the armpit and any other area that is prone to sweat.

Effective & Affordable!
I have oily skin and this toner has become a staple in my routine. I primarily use it as a second-step cleanser after washing my face, and occasionally as a quick mask by applying it with cotton pads for a few minutes. It effectively removes any leftover impurities and excess oil without over-drying. The 16oz bottle is huge and very affordable—excellent value for money. I appreciate that it contains 100% natural witch hazel, but please note it also includes 14% Natural Grain Alcohol. You can definitely smell the alcohol when applying, but it doesn’t feel harsh on my skin. After use, my face feels fresh, clean, and never sticky or tight. It truly helps refine pores and control shine throughout the day. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a straightforward, effective, and budget-friendly toner!

Love Dickinson’s Witch Hazel for post-shave skin care.
I use both witch hazel with and without alcohol. I typically use witch hazel on my face & head after I shave (beard + head). Occasionally I’ll splash some on after a shower as well. I love how my face feels after using witch hazel. It’s very invigorating. Honestly, I’m not a guy that buys a ton of skin products. Again, I just buy this because my face and head feel great after use, and it also helps with skin irritation after shaving. If you wanted to, I’m sure it’s fine to use on a nightly basis. I’m just old and kinda lazy🙂 So, I like this product. I’ve been using witch hazel for years. I believe I’ve only ever used Dickinson’s brand. I’m going recommend this one and I hope the review helps.

One of the best toners I've used. An alternative to Thayers.
UPDATE - 2.5 years later - July 2025 - Thayers has left the building I don't think I've ever bought another Thayers since. Amazon keeps having this bottle at sub $5 and I keep buying. They're stocked up. Take it when I travel, 100%. Every night, I don't care where I am. Had one bottle leak in airplane luggage, that's fine, there was more than enough to finish the trip and get back home. ;) I. Kid. You. Not.... I'm on the boardwalk a few days ago, talking to someone while we're looking at outside exercise equipment being set up. She asks me "how old are you". I truly don't know and never tell. Really. So then she says, "well I say that because from what you are talking about you come across as really knowledgeable, but you look young. I mean young-young." Yes. She said "young-young" :) :) :) lolololol :D I love it! ORIGINAL REVIEW: (Reviewed in the United States on November 11, 2022) I originally bought this because my Thayers toner ran out. I was in a local drugstore and this was all that was available, for around $7. I purchased it, used it, and was very surprised. It is sustainably made with certified organic ingredients and is as natural as can be. When it ran out the idea came to me to check Amazon and I was pleasantly surprised again, haha, that the price was very competitive. Sooooo, I've been buying it here ever since. That was a year ago :) Give it a try! You may like it. The scent is not overpowering and a little goes a long way. Be sure to use a quality cotton pad. I used to use cotton balls, however I didn't like the way some of them would leave little bits of cotton on the face afterward, so after trying numerous brands have stuck with "beauty 360 premium cotton rounds" and this toner ordered from Amazon. Used for just over a year now. Excellent, fresh skin. I regularly get compliments on my skin/face but it isn't just due to the toner. Wash your face twice a day, use a real wash cloth-- no hands or air-splashing like you see in commercials, use toner, drink water, cure your "combination" skin by kicking dairy and oily foods (the oil you eat comes out on your face), don't eat trash... simple things. Now, just so the skin stays fresh I will cycle this with Thayers in another year or so, but right now I have 5 bottles of this Dickinson's from Amazon sitting in the pantry. Whoopee!

A very good, inexpensive, toner that actually works!
I love this product. Ofc it doesn’t smell good because it’s an actual good toner. This toner is promising and doesn’t strip your face of oils, it prepares your face for serums and moisturizers to go on without becoming bubbly or fizzy. This is a good product for anyone who struggles with oily, breakout prone skin. Also tightens large pores so that’s a plus!

Gentle on Sensitive Skin, Fights Acne
When I visited my sister for 2 weeks and saw she had a toner that contained alcohol I couldn't believe she would buy such a thing. Somewhere in the "skincare advice" I remembered that alcohols were bad for you. I'd always used Thayer's alcohol free witch hazel formula, although it felt like it did not help my skin and lately, I was getting irritated due to the citric acid they put in it (very very drying). I already have sensitive, extremely dry skin. When I changed birth controls methods 6 months ago I have been fighting acne ever since. My skin was sometimes dry and flaky and other times completely acne prone and shiny. For some reason I started using my sister's Dickinson's toner. Stayed with her for 2 weeks. In that time, not only did my acne subside but I did not have a single breakout in those 2 weeks. My skin did not feel flaky and overall I looked better, my friend who picked me up from the airport later said my face looked amazing. I went and bought 2 bottles of this of course. Using this after a daily, gentle cleanser once a day or 2x if you're very active that day can save your skin. As someone with severely sensitive skin...to wear products labeled FOR SENSITIVE SKIN even give me red rashes, I stand by this. $4/16 Fl oz versus $10/12 Fl oz? Much better value and product. Does smell a bit funky at first, but I know it will eventually go away because my sister's bottle was half used and did not have the same scent as mine. Highly recommend!
