Excellent, thick enough to provide athletic support yet light enough to wear in cleats. I bought a large and they aren't huge, fits my son who wears a size 10.

The large size fit comfortably for me, shoe size 11 and a thick calf. I wear them for working in a freezer , and walk all day in them and they stay up, perfect. They also prevent my legs from aching on extra long days as well.
