Awesome POE HD camera
I have been replacing my cameras with high def models. This camera is looking outside from behind a window, and I was able to run an Ethernet cable directly to it, so I went with Sharx POE model without wifi. It is a great camera. Picture is crystal clear, and it works great with the DVR software (blueiris) that I run. Setup was very easy (maybe five minutes), as was installation. Because it is positioned behind a window I cannot use the IR lights, but I am getting pretty good nighttime results from its built-in moonlight mode. I stuck with the Sharx brand as my past experience with them has been excellent (they once replaced an outdoor camera that was blown off its mount in a hurricane!).

Unstable.
When you try to modify settings it spontaneously reboots and resets back to factory. There is no support or firmware available on their website. I expected more, but maybe the reviews were paid or I just got a bad unit.** UPDATESo after I wrote my initial review, I received an email from the manufacturer telling me how customer focused they are, along with reasons that they do not have a firmware section or email address on their website. They then sent me another email stating how they received authorization to send me a free complimentary camera with absolutely no obligations. I had not requested anything, so my opinion of their organization switched 180 degrees. Here is a section of their email to me with a subject of "sending you a free camera":<msg>Our management approved sending you a complimentary replacement camera. There are no absolutely no obligations on your part. No payment or any other action on your part required or expected. If you ever do have a chance to try this replacement camera, we would be interested if you let us know if this camera works fine.</msg>Then the emails started... They kept emailing me and telling me if I wasn't using the camera I could use a prepaid return label they included to send their "free" camera back.Wait a minute... Complimentary, no obligations??I was out of town and was not able to test the camera, so I told them I would test it when I came back and if it worked fine, I'd modify my review. They continued to send emails to the point I advised I would be sending their camera back immediately, without opening it or testing it.To summarize, I was only inconvenienced further by having to answer multiple emails and return something I didn't ask for.At this point, even if they made the best and most stable camera on the market, I would not buy from them.

Not as good as the FosCAM 9804W
We've been testing out cameras for a low cost installation. Seeing reviews of other Sharx cameras I was hopeful about this camera but the expectations didn't match the results. The color reproduction on this camera is poor if you have both a high and low illumination area within the area you're viewing. Also, the nightvision on this camera was too high of a contrast to be usable in an area where you might have minor obstructions in the way.Setup wasn't bad, it pretty much let me log in and adjust the network settings as needed. POE fired right up without a snag.Sadly though, when compared to a FosCAM 9804W this camera gave inferior picture quality in both light and dark conditions.

Finally a simple set up
I love this camera, I have been looking for months and have bought and returned several. This is an easy set up and I am no IT person. Clear picture, you can turn off the LED lights and the black and white is still very clear in the dark. Very little delay in video. Sound is clear too.

Flexible camera that requires no monthly on going monitoring service.
I have four of these now. Two black and two white. They are very flexible and you can place them anywhere there is a plug. Resolution is higher than I need but good to have when you want to blow up detail. Reception is good through out the house and through multiple walls. I am using 3 of them through windows for outdoor views, so I can't use the infrared lights. Even at an angle you get the reflection back at the cameras. The IR filter and moon light settings give pretty decent views at night outside with just the standard outside light by the door and street lights, so they work for me. You can see quite a lot with full moons, The infrared lights are fantastic indoors so see in the pitch dark.Best things about these IP cameras is they don't require any other monthly service. You can write to SD card, send it to any internet space you have like my private password protected hosting website, send emails, and of course live stream. It does them all at once and four cameras aren't bogging down my bandwidth at reasonable resolution. If power goes out they reboot themselves no problem. The instruction book is very thorough and well written- almost too much detail but it's nice to find answers in print. I set them up myself with just the book and I'm not a network expert. It could use an index but that's being picky.Service is also excellent. One of my cameras had a problem with the distance it would pick up a signal. I knew from my others it didn't compare. The company service rep walked me through the trouble shooting and replaced it without a problem. I wish the black cameras came with white adapters and wires, because my inside walls are white and the black camera is more discreet through the windows. At 7 months the first two are working flawlessly and always on, the two new ones have been in service a few months and no problems. I view them daily over the internet with an ordinary browser. This camera is all about a good image and flexibility. They have options I hadn't even thought about and have been very useful. You can set up to four areas to monitor in the image and adjust the sensitivity and threshold to eliminate false alarms from things like cars driving by or birds.
