Nice product
I used the foam blocks to complete a sound deadening of my television cabinet from the room behind it. The first layer of the cabinet walls is butyl followed my a thin layer of PE sound deadener. Both are Noico products. To finish off the inside of the cabinet I wanted some more sound deadening and something to further reduce any reflective sound waves. So I chose 12 x 12 inch acoustic foam panels. The result is very good and I have to turn the television volume way up high to hear anything from the room behind the cabinet. I will add that I had no problems expanding the 12 x 12 inch foam blocks. They arrive compressed of course to make them easier and less expensive to ship. Half of the foam blocks expanded to their full size on their own. The rest I rinsed in water to expand then wrung them out. It is Winter and the air is dry so most of the foam blocks dried quickly. There were a couple of stranglers so I put them in the clothes dryer for a few minutes. To apply the foam blocks I used 3M Super 77 spray adhesive. I only applied it to the foam blocks, not to the surface I was mounting them to. As I said, my results are very satisfactory although I don't know if the foam blocks by themselves would have giving me the performance I was after. I think the butyl layer is quite important. Hope that helps anyone wondering about these.

They do expand and are quite dense
I read several reviews and was almost thrown off by the statements that the acoustic panels did not expand fully. Instead, I opted to get 3 different products to play it safe and ended up liking this one the most... though expansion is something you have to plan for. When you get the product, it is vacuum sealed, so they are flat to start and need time to expand. I opened the package, laid the panels out and let it sit over night. Some looked good, some looked deformed with only parts expanding. As I had time and I really liked the ones that had expanded, I played around with them. Given time, they should all expand, but it's a dense foam and sometimes a little help is needed. For one that just wouldn't budge, I wet down the side that was not expanding and let it sit for a day or so. Popped right out. Bottom line If you have some flexibility, the product was the best at reducing noise of the ones I ordered, the best value, and very easy to work with once they were expanded. That said, if you are in a hurry or don't have the space to lay out the panels so they can expand, you may want to consider other products or buy spare packages.

Good Acoustic Tiles For The Price
Not bad for the price and fast shipping. I have acoustic tiles on my band room walls by Auralex (which are the most expensive and best quality) and tiles by Mybecca which in my opinion are just as good as Auralex but much cheaper. Now I just added these tiles to the same walls and you really can’t tell the difference. I received these compressed like everyone else has mentioned. Upon removing them from the packaging I was slightly concerned whether they would bounce back to original form and mesh in with my current tiles. I used suggestions from a couple different reviews. 1st, I put them out on my deck in the warm sun for about an hour or two at which point they just about regained normal form. 2nd, I put them in my clothes dryer on low heat for 5 mins and they were finally at normal form. I used 3M 77 spray adhesive to stick them to my basement walls as I always have and they stick perfectly!! I don’t see a need to let them sit for 24 hrs or soak them in water and dry them out when all you need to do is warmly heat them for a bit. I recommend these for sound studios or band rooms for the price and ease of installation.

Soak in Tub. Dry in Dryer. Looks Good, Works Well
Some users said these did not expand as expected. This was not my experience. I ran a small bath and fully soaked each panel for about 1 minute. You will feel water rushing into the pores and you will know they are fully expanded when the feel of the water filling the pores stops. Ring out each panel then put in dryer on medium-high heat. Seems to have worked fine. It is IMPORTANT to let these completely dry, which can take a while and I usually either let them sit for a couple days to air out or put into a room with a heater / humidifier to COMPLETELY dry them. They have a new factory smell when you first open the package, but after soaking and drying I did not notice the smell anymore. It isn't a bad smell, but not something you want filling your room. I also bought a set of 1in panels to compare and I think these are much better at absorbing the sound. They seem to work pretty good. Obviously not something that will soundproof a room, but noticeably helps with overall room sound quality.

Overall, I am quite impressed by the quality. Definitely wash them, wring them out, and let them dry. This will definitely speed up the expansion process when you take them out of the package (also eliminate that chemical smell...if any) A decent size, and cool pattern for any home or professional studio. I noticed a huge difference in my audio after placing these on my wall. That being said, I didn’t stick this directly to my wall, instead I used an adhesive and applied it to a board, and hung it on my wall. Worked all the same. Definitely a good investment. Highly satisfied.

Seguí Las instrucciones al pie de la letra (Mojarlas, quitar exceso de agua enrollándolas y después meter a la secadora) y todas las piezas recuperaron su forma original y tienen muy buen grosor. Muy buena compra.
