Thick ABS plastic all around. I saw on a review somewhere the metal threaded inserts can pull out. Well I can see how that's possible with the rubber grommet that fits into the groove all around the top of the box. If you try to smash that rubber seal with those 4 screws, you are highly likely to pull out those inserts. There's a lot of pressure needed to get the lid to compress that seal to the point where the lid touches the body. I cannot smash the lid with my two hands, nor step on the box with my 200 lbs and get that lid to close. It is enough to snug the lid against the seal as that will seal the box from the environment. If you don't need a weather tight container, then lose the seal. No problem.

I needed a medium sized hobby box to mount a thermostat and a solenoid valve coil for a project. This box exceeded my expectations. The walls were thicker than most every other hobby box I have used previously. This makes it great if you need a STURDY box. Mine is going to be exposed to weather so the external mounting tabs and the gasket seal should work great for keeping my electricals dry. Highly recommended.

Very well made, should make a great button box for my American Truck Simulator game. Haven’t had time to put everything together, but have all the parts to do it. It arrived quickly, was very happy with it

These are very well made project boxes. Thick-walled enclosure of commercoal-grade plastics, brass thread inserts for the cover, weatherproofing via O-ring channeling. I used one to enclose an antenna Unun/Balun. It easily has enough room for the large toroid cores. I would trust these boxes with any other projects as well. Tough as nails!

The boxes are good and house my antenna transformers as expected. The screws are showing signs of rust after only a month or so of exposure so I ordered stainless steel screws to replace them. Disappointing considering the item is promoted as corrosion resistant.

Ordered this to put my electronics in for a variable speed overhead cab fan for my RZR. I needed it big enough to install the pwm and the rotary speed switch and the power switch. Worked out perfectly for me.

Terrific construction. Nice fit and finish. Includes gasket material to make water tight. But.... I purchased to enclose a Shelly EM (measures electrical power consumed and reports results back over WiFi) at an outdoor water well. With the Shelly device within the box and sealed up, the WiFi signal was very weak and intermittent. When I placed the device inside of a plastic box (not as weather resistant) I had used many times before at the same location, the WiFi signal was fine. Be aware this material seems to attenuate RF signals.

Good solid project boxes.

Well-made project boxes for your electronic projects. They are supposed to be water proof and suitable for use outside. However, they come with a small section of rubber-like cord that the user must coerce into the channels in the box. These channels meander around the perimeter and would be impossible to fit this cord into without a great deal of effort. The preferred solution would be to have a standard pressed rubber seal custom fitted to the box. Next: there are several intrusions at each corner that are not needed structurally and therefore the useful internal dimensions are reduced. Note that there are no pre-drilled holds through the box and no gland nuts were included with this item. This item would work for self-contained battery-powered electronics, but your other projects would require you to drill holes in the box for power or data cabling. There are 6 raised standoffs cast into the bottom of the box that are pre-drilled but not tapped for attaching your circuit board to. Bottom line for me? Well-made project boxes with a few design issues to deal with.
