desertcart.com: workout journal (BODYMINDER Workout & Exercise Journal). exercise & fitness journal, easy to use with any program. Track progress, food, water, vitamins, all activity. Perfect for men and women.: 9780963796844: MemoryMinder: Books Review: Wonderful Tool! - I am about to buy my second one! I love this book. I used it a year ago to track exercise and calories. I lost about 30 lbs over 3 months by logging everything in this book. I ran out of pages, so I decided to try living without it. I've tried a number of apps of on my iphone, but this book really is the simplest, quickest way to log workouts. It does only give spots for 4 sets of each exercise, but there are plenty of other places to write additional info. You can also squeeze 2 sets into one slot, if you write really tiny, or just use 2 lines. I like that there are spaces to record strength training and spaces for recording cardio. There is also a section for other activities. On days that I didn't do strength training, I would write the cardio that I did in that space on the day before and just record the date. I didn't want to waste a page for just cardio. I didn't use the food diary very much because I track my calories on-line with Fitbit. However, it is nice to have a place to write the calories totals the Fitbit gives me each day. There is a place at the back of the book to record weight and measurements. I eventually ran out of room there. I weighed more often than weekly, so I started recording weights and measurements in the "Games and Competitions" section. What I loved about this book: 1. You can record a lot of information in a small space. 2. It isn't too big to lug around the gym. 3. The ring binding is the right size for a pencil with a big eraser, or for a clip-on pen. 4. The plastic cover won't rip off. 5. The spaces are flexible enough that you can record info in a way that is convenient for you. 6. It has a plastic sleeve in the back that is handy for slips of paper, business cards, cash, etc. Review: Great product to monitor your fitness and food intake - I love this journal. I use it daily to record my fitness activities and meals. The journal is easy to use and provides space to record your cardio activities (e.g. treadmill, elliptical trainer), your strength-training exercises, and other miscellaneous activities. For strength training, the table allows you to record your repetitions and weights. You can also record your meals and snacks throughout the day. This is useful if you are tracking your calorie intake. There's also list of common foods and their calories at the beginning of the book (there's space to add to the list). If you are trying to lose weight or simply track the number of calories you are consuming, recording this information does make you feel more accountable for what you eat and makes you think twice before eating something you really shouldn't. Prior to the Bodyminder journal, I had used the Fitlosophy Fitbook, which is also a nice fitness journal, but costs twice as much as the Bodyminder and has less space to record your activities. The Fitbook also doesn't have space to track the number of calories that you burn and intake; a feature that I like. If you are looking for a simple (no frills) and easy to use journal, I highly recommend the Bodyminder. It's thin enough to stick in your gym bag and gives you the flexibility to start/stop recording your activities, whereas the Fitbook always started on a Monday. When I'm finished with this journal, I plan to purchase another Bodyminder journal. It just takes a couple of minutes a day to record your activities and food intake, which is well worth the time if you trying to get or stay fit.

Great for logging workouts
I purchased this to keep track of my weightlifting workouts. I've never been one for recording thing into fitness app since I prefer paper. I like this because it has everything you need and nothing you don't need. there is ample space for logging your lifting routine or cardio sessions. There a good amount of space for comments if maybe you injured yourself or for anything out of the ordinary. Easy to read and I like that it gives you enough space to write big enough to read what you've wrote. I've used these for 5 or so years now and can tell you that when I go back to look at my old programming or workouts I can't still understand what I was doing fully. Great little book I would Highly recommend.

Great book!
If you want to track your progress this book is amazing. It helped motivate me as well. Being able to track what I ate everyday actually helped me by eating healthy. If I wrote down something I ate that was unhealthy it would make be feel a bit guilty lol. Tracking my workouts is great because I can go back and see what weights I did the previous week and try to go heavier.

Simple log w/o unnecessary bells and whistles...
I purchased this workout log while I was staying at a wellness resort a year ago. It's a great tool to track and plan for future workouts. The layout is great for cardio and resistance training. I really like the section on resistance training b/c I can log everything (reps/sets/weights) in pre-built columns for that data. I can plan my strength training workouts a day ahead and simply use my log as a "checklist" for the next day--if I need to adjust numbers or an exercise, it's quick and easy to do so. Cardio is also organized well as it is separated b/w "in-gym" activities (with columns for equipment read-outs like HR, calories, intensity), or for "outside of gym" activities (which allows you to enter activities such as running, walking, swimming, etc.) My only critique is that I wish there was a larger section on the page devoted to just free-text journaling. Even better would be a separate section just for free text journaling. This isn't a deal breaker for most--I'm new to working out and for me, recording how I felt during the workout, motivating myself and high-fiving myself for good workouts has been crucial in keeping me going. I just use a regular journal for the mushy stuff; but the log has been a great tool for me. You will need more than one if you exercise 4 days or more during the week, but it's still better than a lot of similar products out there.

A superb, concise addition to your gym bag. Good points: Has everything you need to track your progress through thirteen weeks. Includes, a how to use section; a table of common foods and their nutritional values, for those watching their diet, with room to add your own favourites. Weekly plans and daliy activity records make up the majority of the journal. It also includes pages on your fitness expences, weekly progress, calanders and space for a before and after photo. A truely excellent piece of kit. Negative point: The only problem I can find is the size of some of the spaces to record your dietary notes. However, this can easily be remedied by writing smaller. Would recommend to friends and strangers alike. Will be purchasing more when required.

I have been involved in strength and fitness conditioning for some 45 years and nearly always kept a training diary ; certainly when I was competing seriously in athletics. Usually I use a hard back lined notebook A4 or A5. Recently I thought I would use something a bit more pre-structured and trawled Amazon for products. This one seemed to offer a good blend of organisation and durability and so it has proved. It is decent value for money , though personally I barely use the right-hand of each pair of pages (nutrition and other comments ) so that is a bit of a waste. Not enough to deduct a mark so five stars, given good quick delivery!
