Great pants.
This pants are great. They fit great and are comfortable. Sometimes i think that they should be a little stretchier at the waste but I probably just need to lose a few pounds. The only flaw? The 5th pocket needs to be a little deeper so that the entire phone can fit in it. I love that pocket though. Material is good, not heavy which some people may not like. They look good enough I wear them at my desk job.

**Comfortable and Durable Work Pants**
I recently picked up the Carhartt Men's Rugged Flex Relaxed Fit Canvas 5-Pocket Work Pant, and they are fantastic! The fit is relaxed but still structured, offering plenty of room to move around without being too baggy. The canvas fabric is strong and durable, perfect for tough work environments. Plus, the Rugged Flex technology gives a bit of stretch, which makes bending, squatting, and kneeling much more comfortable. The 5-pocket design is really handy for storing tools or small items, and they still look great after multiple washes. If you're in need of work pants that can handle heavy-duty tasks while keeping you comfortable, I highly recommend these!

Work pants
The best work pants. My husband has about every color now. Multiple pockets for functionality, warm, and very durable. Priced at a fair value for the quality of pant. True to size - 34W 32L

Oddly sized and ugly but high-quality and good for their purpose
These were my first pair of Carhartt pants. Overall I like these pants, but there are some things to consider. Let me break it out into the different areas:Quality:As other have said many times before, Carhartt makes very high quality clothing - these are no exception. Every thing is triple stitched, the material is durable and thick but still comfortable. They feel like they will last a long time.Fit:Here is where I ran into issues. I bought these in the same size as all of my other pants - big mistake, The legs were a bit longer than I would expect and the waist was nearly a size small. I normally wear a 36 waist in many other brands. "out of the box" these were a bit tight, but after the first wash they fit more like a loose 34 waist. I actually thought about returning them for a larger size - however, the thighs are pretty generously cut, and I was afraid a 38 would make them look like clown pants. Instead, I bought a waist band extender, which worked GREAT (by the way, I really can't recommend waist band extenders enough to all of my brethren who are approaching or past middle age and find their gut to be a bit bigger than in their 20s...). If you are on the larger size of your waist measurement, you might consider sizing up. If your normal waist size is a bit loose on you, these might be more snug. As for the "flex" aspect - I have become hooked on stretch / flex pants. I found these to have very little if any "flex," perhaps because of the thicker material.Appearance:I'm torn on the appearance. They really aren't what I would call stylish. The cellphone pocket strikes me as pointless as it isn't very deep and is awkwardly located - if I'm working around the house, my phone would fall out, and if I am out running errands, I would be afraid someone would be tempted to snatch it out of the pocket. I also think the cell pocket detracts from the overall look of the pants. Other than the tight waist band, these definitely have a relaxed cut in the legs, but apparently not as much as other Carhartt pants (so I'm told), I wouldn't really recommend these for a professional environment, but YMMV. That being said, they have a very rugged, "manly" look to them that I really like. I think they'll be great for working around the house or just casual weekend pants. Conclusion:I was ready to give these 1-star just based on the odd sizing, but the waist band extender saved it for me - however, I'm not sure its fair to judge a product based on improvements from an unrelated product. I would recommend trying them on in a store if you can - also remember that they do shrink noticeably in the wash, so get them a tad bit loose. Once you get past the sizing issues and the weird cell pocket, I think these are pretty good casual / chore pants. They are definitely very high quality and feel like they will stand up to a lot of abuse.

Lighter Weight Cloth Than Expected
Update 2025 March 27Big mistake on my part. I thought I was buying a different version of Carhartt jeans than my last (earlier) purchase. But again, a big disappointment. Very light weight. Not what I was looking for, especially from Carhartt, and at $55. These are more like discount store quality. The waist and seat fit are ok. But the "Relax fit legs is borderline bellbottoms. Overall, the jeans don't hang well, don't look like an appropriate fit, nor are they in the legs. As far as a fifth pocket for a cell phone ... definitely not a secure pocket for that purpose. The pocket is sized more appropriately suited for a flip phone; and it's not secure. Sitting down will cause the phone to slide right out of that 5th pocket. What happened to Carhartt?Original Review 2021 October 05"Carhartt Men's Rugged Flex Rigby Five Pocket Pantice", are comfortable trousers, but I was disappointed in two aspects. They are advertised as work pants, but the material was considerably lighter weight than expected for work pants.. Considerably lighter than blue jeans. It seems as though these are more appropriate for a trip to the hardware store than actually doing manual labor in. But they seem adaquately constructed enough that I will add them to my closet, just not to my work pants group. The second little disappointment, is that I purchased them for among other reasons, because they show a thigh pocket in the photo. I thought great, finally some descent trousers that I can carry my smart phone in. I understand that they were probably not designed specifically for cell phone carriers, but I was disappointed none-the-less. They are better suited for a flip phone because of the depth of the pocket.Update 2021-01-08After wearing these for several months I felt compelled to downgrade my rating from four stars to three.I bought these as work pants with a 5th pocket so that I can carry my cell phone. The pants fall short of my needs for these reasons:1. The fabric weight is too light for true work pants. Ok for a trip to the store.2. The 5th pocket is too shallow for most new smart phones. When sitting the phone has a tendency to fall out.3. The 5th pocket is placed toward the back of the leg. So, when one does sit down, it is on whatever is in that 5th pocket. That pocket needs to be deepened and relocated more to the side rather than the back. And it would be nice if had a flap that buttoned or snapped.Overall, descent pants. Just not what I had in mind when I made the purchase.
