Works great secure hold thought out fetures good quality
I am a tree climber and have been working in the tree service for over 25 year. Taught by the old school ways. Work smarter not harder be quick but safe. Let the tools do the work. ... This I a great tool for any tree service. Yes It is heavy but this one's not built for packing out a mile. It digs in deep and gives you a good secure hold. The 2nd tooth makes it ready for big or small logs. The teeth Tord's end near spike help grip much better then the traditional PV or can't hooks.i have never used a log jack in all my years. But I have used this one several times to GE chocked chains and ropes undermeath for pulling out. I really do like it plan on getting 2nd one. The crew has not used our older PV or can't hooks since put into truck. Worth every penny

One of those tools where you ask yourself why you waited so long to get one.
This thing is awesome. I had a couple very large cottonwood trees cut down because they were constantly dropping leaves in my pool in the fall and those fuzzy floaters in my pool in the spring. I hired someone to cut the trees down but I chose to deal with them once they were on the ground because the company wanted an extra $2000 dollars to haul all the wood away. I have an area where I can take the wood to and drop it in a large pit. But little did I realize when they cut the trees down they would leave me such large chunks. I'm talking 32" around and 10' long. There was no way I was going to be able to move those by hand and with my little homeowners chainsaw it would take me days upon days to cut these up into chunks small enough to carry.I decided to order this Woodchuck tool to see if I might be able to use it to roll the big logs to the pit. This thing did the job and did so easily. I felt like I had the strength of 10 men. I rolled the logs about 40 yards to the pit and pushed them in. The smaller parts of the tree I used the jack adapter to easily cut them up into chunks I could handle by hand.I own 7 acres of land that's mostly wooded. There are lots of trees that are dead that need to be taken down to make room for new trees. This Woodchuck will get lots of use over the next couple years. If you're on the fence about spending this much money for a tool like this, all I can say is it's well worth it. This tool is strong, heavy duty, true quality and indispensable.

Very Impressed!
I bought this to help cutting up firewood. Initially I have a couple of 28 inch + 8 ft. logs that I wanted to move so I could cut through. I thought there would be no way I could move them since they were indented 8 inches into the ground due to felling and soft ground. This tool grabbed them with no problem and I was able to move them to a better cutting angle with ease.I am now on my second very large tree. This tool has make a huge difference! The jack makes it much easier to make cuts all the way through a log without having the chain saw hit the ground (and instantly dull itself). It is easy to change to the jack when needed, or remove it to move logs. The tool seems heavy duty, but not to heavy to handle with ease.Be aware that there are 2 very similar versions of this. The other one has two fixed jack stand, but this one has a removable Peavy point and one removable stand. This one is for moving logs AND jacking them up. The other is more just for jacking as far as I can tell. The other version appears to have a different claw as well. This version has teeth on the fixed portion of the pole, and the other does not seem to. Altogether this one seems more versatile.I just wish I'd bought this 20+ years ago and about 20 large trees ago!

POWERFUL TOOL
I live in a wooded piece of land and constantly have large trees uprooted by wind. I purchased a similar item for $29 at another retailer. Garbage. Light, flimsy, would sink in the mud and could not even come close to the capacity of the size log it claimed to have. I decided to stop fooling around, spend the extra money and buy this beast. Night and day. I went out immediately and jacked a 24 inch diameter, 15 foot piece of muddy, wet black oak. This was on wet, uneven ground. The log ripped away from the base and was lifted several inches off the ground! I made quick work of the tree with my Stihl, with no cutting into the dirt. I have used it on several heavy sections of wood with the same results. This item has a wide strong metal base so it resists sinking. Nice long, heavy metal handle with a grip on the end provides for excellent leverage. The best feature is the claw. Rather than having a simple curved piece of flimsy metal with a hook at the end; this has a “claw” which has surprising gripping power. On a couple of really big logs, the claw would only reach to below the top of the log. I thought for sure it would not have enough of a grip to lift. But it did, with no slipping. If you do any sort of bucking of large trees, this is a MUST have. Very impressed.

This is a must have tool for cutting trees
I ordered this after reading so many positive reviews and I am not disappointed. This is pretty light weight but very sturdy. I have used it rolling logs from 12" up to 20" and it does a great job. The 12"-16" logs, from 8' to 12', were fairly easy to get lifted on the stand for bucking. If you are looking for a study and useful logging tool, this will certainly fit the bill!

This thing is not a toy
This woodchuck is a well designed and sturdy piece of gear. It makes the timber jack that you buy at the home center or tractor store look like the toys that they are. The foot/stand is easily removed to roll logs into a better position, and it easily raises logs to cut. The handle won't easily bend - I've been using this thing for about 3 months and it has lifted logs up to about 20" in diameter (although it took two of us). While the handle could be longer to provide more leverage, it is a great tool for the money.
