This collar has worked amazingly well for our red setter. She often barked at anything in the yard, people walking past our house, trucks, etc. We use this on the non-shock setting and it works great for her. She never gets past the first beep/vibration. In fact, I put the rubber covers on the probes so its more comfortable for her to wear.There are so many bark collar out there, I didn't know which to get but I'm glad I went for this one. Additionally, nothing has ever set it off other than her bark. Even our other dog barking does not set it off, which we were worried about. Furthermore, the collar hasn't made her skittish or anything. Within a few days, she was used to it.About the only downside is it's not rechargeable but you do get 2 extra batteries with it and I don't foresee it running out of battery very quickly.

New UPDATE: So I received the replacement shock collar very quick. There is still a problem with the new one, the sensor that detects loud noises is faulty and won't work at 110-115 decibels (think gas chainsaw), which is louder than almost any dog can bark. I tried on all levels of sensitivity 1-9 and both modes. I feel bad because the customer seems to genuinely care about the product, but there a major QA problems. Given I have had two of these now, I can safely say I would not feel safe using it on my dog. Changed review back to 1 star because I am here to rate the product, not the excellent customer service.Old UPDATE:Updating to 3 stars for the excellent customer service of the seller. The seller has reached out and genuinely passionate about the product and their reputation. They are in process of fixing the issues I experienced. It is really nice to see a seller who stands behind their product! Awesome! Will update this further after I receive the new collar and can test it out.ORIGINALMy 1 star is for two reasons. The product didn't work (below), and the business card they mail out with it that has an email address on it to get assistance is worthless. Never made contact with seller despite my efforts, which left me no choice but to return it.Product would not detect any barking/loud noises during product 'setup & testing' prior to being used on my dog. Every time product was turned off and back on, sensitivity levels were always at max, which meant I needed to manually turn it down every time.I really wanted to like this product given the reviews, but with bad support and the quantity of defective/ bad quality control problems myself and others experienced with this product, I just wouldn't feel right ever using it on my best friend. (Do yourself a favor a read the 1&2star reviews).So please be careful if you're using this on a dog you care about!

This is the third similar collar I have purchased. The other two worked ok, but as you can imagine a very active lab who likes to swim can be a little hard on these. I have no expectation that he can swim with the collar, but glad to know it is at least water resistant. It works very well, the only real problem is that we have two smaller dogs that are not fitted with a collar and they can still set off the warning if they are close. The good thing is they abide by the audible warning also. It keeps the strongest loudest bark at bay and has some affect on the other two. Better than the sonic box that I recently tried out that quit after exhausting three batteries. Hopefully this one will last till the spring.

The good this about this vark collar was that it does it job and battery life last a while and its water proof so its perfect for the rain in oregon! the down side is that the batteries are diffrent and would be better if it was rechargeable with any kind of usb port. I used this product for my 1 and a half year old german sheaperd, the collar did work perfect when the beeper went first before shocking and its a good way to make your dog learn when not to bark when seeing new people. overall this product works for my dog.

Got this for my room mate who has a dog that barks at everything and wont stop. barks at the door, barks at other dogs, barks at every person it sees on a walk, barks at everything. Took some convincing to get owner to use the collar. Turned it all the way down to like a 1 or 2. Works as advertised where it will beep first. Doesnt always shock on first bark but will normally kick in after the second. I did read another post about how it shocked the dog and the dog panicked, kept barking and kept getting shocked. This did happen - we removed the collar, dog learned a lesson. Put the collar back on and the dog is a new dog. Dog really takes its time now to decide if barking is a good option. If it does get a shock it only happens once and not repeated like last time. Dog also listens for beeps and knows not to bark past that or else shock. Normally only put it on beep mode now because dog learned. In total dog was probably shocked less than 5 times since we first used it. Dog is now better, does not bark when people enter, does not bark on walks. Almost lost a room mate or got rid of dog because of barking and now we all live in perfect harmony. Seriously recommend this product. I know people are nervous about the shock but just do it once and dogs learn quick. Totally worth it. You can dial the shock way way down which is nice. Vibration and beeps keep dog in line after first few shocks and you never need to shock them again. The fact that it comes with extra batteries for itself is a super nice. For the price just get it and live happy.
