Size:400 Grit 6 Inch 400 Grit Hook and Loop Wet / Dry Autobody Film Sanding Discs, 10-Pack. Premium waterproof polyester film with industrial grade aluminum oxide (A/O) grain. Self fracturing Aluminum Oxide provides a fast cut rate with excellent longevity. Superior strength and durability compared to paper backed sanding discs. Ideal for use on auto body, fiberglass, plastics, composites, marine finishing and high gloss finishing. Flexible polyester film offers superior performance on curve, corner, and edge sanding applications. Discs are precision stamped and bonded with hook and loop backing. Resin over resin bonding resists heat and humidity. Wet or dry applications. IMPORTANT: The extra thick zinc stearate coating on these discs offers superior lubrication and requires less water than typically used in wet applications. Water misting is more effective than a steady stream. Material released from the disc surface during use is NOT abrasive grain, it is zinc stearate. This coating is designed to slough off gradually while providing close tolerance and a perfectly even surface finish.

Feels good! Great hook and loop backing!
I bought these to attempt to cut 3" sanding discs out of. Pictures are of my first attempt and I'm sure I'll figure out a better method - but it worked. The 3" sanding pad I'm using comes in at around 2-3/4" - 2-7/8" so I can feasibly get 2 smaller discs out of one 6" disc. The discs themselves are great. The brighter side is the hook and loop side. Feels like 1500 grit should feel. Would purchase again. Really wish Red Label Abrasives made 3" hook and loop discs!Update: So my method turned into sticking the 3M foam sanding pad on to the hook and loop side. I'd take a ruler and cut the pad in half. The other half can make a 2nd 3" disc. Then I used a utility knife to cut around it. After I finished all of them I think scissors would have been easier...I was able to make twenty 3" discs - the max amount - as long as you aren't trying to cut exactly 3" you'll be fine. I still wish I could just buy twenty 3" discs from Red Label for $10.Update: I got a couple 3M 1500 grit purple (260L or 360L model I forget which one...3M modelling scheme is fubar)..anyway 3" purple clear coat P1500 finishing discs. They feel almost spot on compared to these. I can hardly tell a difference at all.Update: I tried sanding aluminum with these and they loaded up pretty much instantly and just became an applicator for spreading mud.

Works great, may not be quite true to grit rating
I bought several grit ratings in this line of products. They all grip well and seem to hold up well. The grit rating though seems off compared to regular wet/dry automotive sandpaper. The 400 cuts and leaves scratches similar to what 600 sandpaper would do. 800 is similar to 1000 and this 2500 is similar to 3000. That said, I liked it, it worked well for me. I was using it with a 1 inch foam pad between it and the buffer so that may be contributing to the grit rating being off.

Great to use to polish rocks.
I'm into lapidary and have chosen a foreman to help me with the cutting and shaping of the rocks. But was very unhappy with the same paper with the hook and loop backing to get the job done without using way more sand paper to get a nod done to satifaction. So I surched for other sanding paper when I found your product I decided to try it. Your product is superb! The only draw back is that I have to mark and.cut out one inch discs to use with the one inch sanding block th at i prefer for my product, however the mod that is accomplished with your discs is way more productive then any other out there that I have found.

OK but not as good as 3M Trizact
Worked OK but did not remove material anywhere near as fast as the 3M Trizact that I had been using.

Great help with my 1980 C3 project
Im wet sanding a 1980 vette for a customer of mines and do to me being new to town the paint reps are just getting familiar with me. They've gone corperate and i cant by individual sheets of sandpaper any more. I purchased 2 packs so that i can have4 of each grit and they all perform well and hold up just as well as the 3m hook and loop!!! Overall im proud of the product

Best paper I’ve used.
Amazing quality, possibly the best sanding discs/paper I’ve ever used, doesn’t get clogged and is very soft in the right way as to not scratch your surface even if you hit your work area a little off kilter.

Removed Gel Coat oxidation
Bought these to sand the heavy oxidation- and I do mean very heavy oxidation - that formed on the gel coat nose cap of our RV. We had used the same pads to sand our oxidized headlights on the car and it worked so great that we decided to give it a try on the RV. We had tried all the oxidation removers and cutting pads made for RV gel coats and none had worked. We have a dark brown nose cap that we will never make that mistake again. It seems almost every RVer has the same issue with oxidation on dark colors even with waxing every six months. We sanded with the 800 grit then went to 1200 and finished with 2500-3000 grit before doing the waxing. It worked perfectly for us. All the oxidation was sanded out and we had a smooth shiny finish again. We made sure our RV was gel coated and not painted so this worked great for us. We had been told that all that could be done was to have it painted at a dealership. This might not be for everyone but it worked in our situation. The sanding pads held up and did a great job!
