KitchenAid attachments are worth the money but if you can get it on sale, it's a steal!
Excellent product that is always worth the money. I waited for this to have a discount, saved up points from other transactions, and got a great deal. The metal is silver, strong, well made. The grinder works wonderful! Easy to install and use. Not a lot of noise, fits well as it's designed to, isn't bulky and looks wonderful attached to my machine. I don't know how I ever managed in the kitchen without my KitchenAid machine and these attachments.

A Solid Upgrade for Home Meat Grinding
I bought this attachment specifically to grind my own hamburger meat, and it’s been excellent. The metal construction is sturdy and well-made. It attaches easily to my stand mixer and handles a good amount of meat. The grind comes out consistent, whether I’m doing a coarse mix for chili or a finer grind for burgers. Cleaning is straightforward—everything disassembles quickly, and because it’s metal, it doesn’t stain or hold odors. If you’re someone who enjoys more control over the quality of your ground meat, this is worth it. It feels less like a gadget and more like a reliable tool that I’ll use for years.

Great product
Works great I like how the whole thing can be stripped down and cleaned pieces by piece, it makes dog food easier to make by grinding up meat.

Love it!
Love it. Excellent quality you expect from KitchenAid. It’s very easy to use and it’s easy to take apart and thoroughly clean. Added a photo for the folks complaining about having to hand wash a piece of aluminum machinery. It tells you in more than one place, including a giant sticker on the grinder, that this isn’t supposed to go in the dishwasher. It actually came with multiple discs for the grind size, a tamper stick to push meat through, a bristle brush, a sausage attachment and two easy to follow instruction books. It all came in a great box for storage. 100% worth the investment — I was able to buy 10 lbs of chicken breast (Costco, $29)and grind it into 10 one pound bags for the freezer for less than what it would’ve cost to purchase one prepackaged pound of ground chicken. It will pay for itself in savings in no time!

Makes grinding meat so easy!
I’m really happy with this attachment for my KitchenAid mixer. It grinds meat fast and evenly, and it’s so much easier than doing it by hand or using a separate grinder. The pieces fit well and feel sturdy, and it cleans up pretty easily after use. I used it to make ground beef and sausage and it handled both really well. If you cook a lot or want fresher ground meat, this is definitely worth having. It saves time and works exactly like it should.

Great Performance for Occasional Use
The KitchenAid KSMMGA Metal Food Grinder Attachment is a solid choice for those looking to grind small to medium batches of meat. It performs well when the unit and meat are kept cold, ensuring a smoother grind. The metal construction adds durability compared to plastic alternatives. However, it's important to note that the housing is not dishwasher-safe; hand washing is recommended to maintain its finish. While it's suitable for occasional use, for larger volumes or frequent grinding, a dedicated meat grinder might be more efficient.

Grinding chicken bones with KSMMGA, Metal Food Grinder.
I have been feeding my blue heelers raw food since the early 2000's. One of the disadvantages of feeding them raw chicken thighs with bones is they don't always chew the bones up very good. This is not really a problem for the younger dogs, but the older dogs seem to have a bit of trouble digesting the bones if they don't chew them enough. This defeats the purpose of having them eat the bones for their nutrition, if they were pooping out large bone chunks. I looked into getting a meat grinder but the really good ones were pushing $700 or more. Since I already had a KitchenAid mixer I decided to check out their meat grinder attachments. The KSMMGA, Metal Food Grinder kept popping up in my searches and one rating website gave it a 10.0 rating. One thing I noticed was that it was not recommended to grind bones with it. I thought, well its only $90 so lets give it a shot. I did call KithenAid up and asked them if the grinder was able to grind the chicken bones. They again informed me that although it was not recommended to grind bones, especially beef bones, they thought I would be ok grinding the chicken bones if they were chopped up into smaller bits with the meat. This morning I ground up two packages of bone in chicken thighs. I chopped up the thigh bones into three or four pieces and ran the meat though the grinder. Also I did't go above speed two so as not to burn up the motor. It worked like a charm, no clogging just a nice even grind, and the dogs seemed to love it, telling me they were ready for second breakfast.

Not a cheap product that will shred apart with use
What I like about this attachment is that it's made of metal, from a trusted brand and sold by most probably the best company on the planet (Amazon, duh). The material it's made from is important. Cheap aluminum can shred apart and leave shavings in food, which is always a problem for obvious food safety issues. Comes with some attachments and shapes. haven't used it yet but looking forward to doing so. Looks tough, still, I wouldn't put bones into it at anything that could result in pushing the limits of what attachment is rated and capable of. The weight has a nice hefty to it. I'll update later on if I run into issues or safety concerns. The price point is fair as KitchenAid commands respect no matter where you shop for it.
