ScottsEZ Seed Patch and Repair Centipede Grass, 3.75 lb

I was so excited to find this product from Scott's. Being from the South, I know how hard it is to grow Centipede grass successfully. And how few products are available to help you. I had have small area and several spots where my centipede just wasn't filling in and I didn't want to have to buy rolls of sod to fill it in so I was really hopeful when I found this on Amazon. I have done everything that I was supposed to do get this seed to grow. I turned the dirt over and removed rocks, I covered the areas with new compost/dirt, and I sprayed the areas with water before spreading the seed. I have made sure to keep the seed moist and free of debris/weeds. The seed did not spread easily from the container because the opening is too small and it didn't spread evenly. Very disappointed.

Updated 1yr after application:It definitely took a full 3 weeks of keeping it watered, in warm soil temps and full sun before I saw the first sprouts. I had almost given up. This isn't like other "patch" type grass that sprouts and grows fast. You absolutely have to keep it wet. If the soil turns the light brown color for even a few hours, you have failed and it will not grow. This stuff takes constant vigilance to see even modest results.While this product did sprout and grow, it was very slow growing. By the end of the summer, the surrounding mature centipede had effectively grown over the new growth and covered the damaged area. Thus there was little point in having applied this product and it was a lot of vigilance to get it to grow to begin with.

So I added topsoil to the spots where I had my stumps removed, Spread this patch and repair almost 2 weeks ago, and have been watering regularly, no growth seen yet. I'll update review as some new growth is seen. So It's been over a month and with plenty of sunshine and watering 3 x a week, plus rain, not the first blade of grass has grown. Very disappointing, was hoping for better results.

I hear some people complain about this product saying ti doesn't worm. I've used this more than once. If you follow instructions you shouldn't have any issues. You have to use water daily and it will work.
