Ballerina: A Step-by-Step Guide to Ballet (Residents of the United States of America) Product Bundle – December 17, 2007

I bought this book because my 6 year old daughter is taking ballet. I have her practice for 20 minutes at least every other day to help strengthen her skills. However, I never took ballet myself so when she would practice I didn't know if she was doing things correctly or if she asked me a question I didn't know how to help her. This book has a lot of pictures to go along with the instructions so I am able to help her get better. Of course I tell her if her teacher tells her something different that she needs to follow those instructions but over all this has been a really big help and I can see my daughter getting stronger as she practices. I highly recommend this book for parents who are looking to help their child.

As an adult beginner in ballet, I wanted a book with all the terminology and pictures of the moves in it so I could learn better. I settled on this book, which advertised an accompanying dvd, which sounded perfect to me. The pictures in the book are extremely helpful, and each picture has an equally helpful caption with helpful hints on where to place your feet/hands/fingers while holding the pose. The layout of each page is very organized and simple, so it's not like reading a textbook like some dance manuals I looked at.Oh and the dvd! The dvd is very cute, some students of the English National Ballet School show you every move in the book, and not only that but they have 2 girls positioned differently, one facing front and one facing back so the viewer really sees body placement.I'm really glad I chose this book, it's been helpful to me already. This book is exactly as advertised, step-by-step ballet, so if you're looking for something more than that, you won't find it in this book, but if you're a beginner to ballet then I highly recommend this one.

Very beautiful photographs shows real ballet positions a little advanced for my 4 years old granddaughter but she enjoyed looking at it. Good for later. Wish there was one for boys

My 13 year old daughter wanted to learn on her own ballet at home during the Covid19 lock down. She had never had any ballet (or dance) lessons. (Neither have I.) I choose this book because it had both written descriptions and a DVD. SO SO pleased with this book. SO SO proud of the daily discipline my daughter put in doing warm ups, practicing the basic steps for six weeks, and now learning the longer routines (putting it all together). She has learned so much on her own using both the book and the DVD. My daughter looks forward to dancing and has enjoyed this exercise during a very difficult time. Highly recommend this book.

The book is very well done. Beautiful clear photography and excellent instructions. We enjoyed the DVD, except that the menu/titles are all in German, making it difficult to coordinate with the English book!I would love to get the proper DVD in English. Then I would consider it a 5 Star product!

This book is not only informative, it is beautiful and a delight to peruse like a coffee table book. If you love ballet, then this book will take you there. Just love it! 💕 🩰 💕

I have researched and purchased various ballet books and videos for my daughter (7 yo beginner) and myself (a dance teacher). This one is the product inspiring and helpful for both of us. The selection of the material, quality/artistry of the photographs and accompanying DVD are all superb - by far the most beautiful product I have seen. It is simply delightful!My daughter loved to read through each page along with studying the photos - she gets more knowledge out of the book than from her classroom.It is worth mentioning .. my 7 year old even pointed out that the barre works on DVD were shoot by 2 models facing the opposite sides, so a complete view of the movement (front-back view or left-right view) can be seen clearly (whereas if this was seen on other videos, there are typically 2 or more groups of dancers scattered in a classroom - kind of distracting).Congratulations to the producer and the production team!!

It's exactly what my daughter needs to practice ballet at home. I can tell that it will help her to get better as she continues ballet at the dance studio. But this way she gets more practice. Also I can help her.
