I used Twin Lab Chromium Picolinate many years ago and got fantastic results in that areas of: reduced sugar cravings and fat loss that was accompanied with proper diet and regular exercise. Why I stopped using this brand I don't know. Perhaps various literature says you should only use it for about six months and then stop.... But one things for sure, in comparison to many other brands of Chromium Picolinate that I've used on and off for years, in my opinion, Twin Lab offers a superior quality and easier to swallow capsule than any other brand on the market!

Couldn't tell the difference.
I bought this supplement based on its positive reviews for blood-sugar moderation and appetite-suppression. After taking two caps a day for three months, I could not tell if it had any affects, good or bad--I did not have my blood monitored, so I don't know about blood-sugar levels, and I had no decrease in appetite--but also, no know side affects, either, so it keeps two stars.

Twinlab Mega Chromium Picolinate Review - Inconclusive Efficacy
As much as I wish there were a magic pill to lower my blood glucose levels, Chromium Picolinate is not your magic pill for Type 2 diabetes. To consistently keep blood glucose levels in check, you need to restrict high glycemic foods and exercise (anaerobic) daily. Weightlifting dramatically lowers my blood glucose to reasonable levels and keeps my A1C scores at around 6%. Otherwise, without diet and exercise, my A1C once hit 11%, as I am a Type 2 diabetic. You might also want to consult your doctor about the medication Metformin.Chromium Picolinate was initially touted in the 80's as a solution for Type 2 diabetes, but this has been disproven by many clinical studies. Where Chromium Picolinate has shown to help with blood glucose, the benefit was less than 1%, a statistical wash. The official stance of the FDA is "FDA concludes, however, that the existence of such a relationship between chromium picolinate and either insulin resistance or type 2 diabetes is highly uncertain".Chromium Picolinate was also thought to cause chromosomal damage, but this has also been disproven. I am not allowed to include URL's within an Amazon review, but if you wish for further reading, try googling "US National Library of Medicine National Institutes of Health" and then click on "PubMed" and then search for "Chromium Picolinate". A treasure trove of studies will appear.Just for simplicity, here are the FDA guidelines for Chromium Picolinate, in full:"Chromium Picolinate Intake and Risk of Type 2 Diabetes: an Evidence-Based Review by the United States Food and Drug AdministrationAbstractThe labeling of both health claims that meet significant scientific agreement (SSA) and qualified health claims on conventional foods and dietary supplements requires pre-market approval by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Approval by the FDA involves, in part, a thorough review of the scientific evidence to support an SSA or a qualified health claim. This article discusses FDA's evidence-based review of the scientific evidence on the role of chromium picolinate supplements in reducing the risk of type 2 diabetes. Based on this evidence-based review, FDA issued a letter of enforcement discretion for one qualified health claim on chromium picolinate and risk of insulin resistance, a surrogate endpoint for type 2 diabetes. The agency concluded that the relationship between chromium picolinate intake and insulin resistance is highly uncertain.SUMMARYIn summary (Table 1), there was one intervention study that showed a beneficial effect of chromium picolinate intake on risk of insulin resistance. One other intervention study that provided chromium chloride showed no beneficial effect on insulin resistance. None of the five intervention studies showed a statistically significant beneficial effect of chromium picolinate on FBS and/or OGTT. Furthermore, none of the 10 intervention studies using other forms of chromium showed a beneficial effect of on FBS or OGTT in individuals with normal glucose tolerance.Based on FDA's evidence-based review, the agency concluded that there is very limited credible evidence for a qualified health claim for chromium picolinate and reduced risk of insulin resistance, and therefore reduced risk of type 2 diabetes. The findings of Cefalu et al. have not been replicated, and replication of scientific findings is important to substantiate results. For these reasons, FDA concluded that the existence of a relationship between chromium picolinate intake and reduced risk of either insulin resistance or type 2 diabetes is highly uncertain. On August 25, 2005, FDA issued a letter of enforcement discretion for the labeling of dietary supplements with the following qualified health claim: “One small study suggests that chromium picolinate may reduce the risk of insulin resistance, and therefore possibly may reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes. FDA concludes, however, that the existence of such a relationship between chromium picolinate and either insulin resistance or type 2 diabetes is highly uncertain.” The agency concluded that there was no credible evidence to suggest that chromium picolinate intake may reduce the risk of elevated blood glucose levels."I purchase online almost daily and rely on other reviews to guide me to smart purchases. Purchased based on brand recognition
I purchased this to help with weight loss and cholesterol control. I just started to take it, so will update when I get a lipid panel done.I went with this brand because of the Twinlab brand. I also posted some photos of the labels.

I'm very surprised
Usually, I take Metformin for insulin resistance but it's very hard on my stomach so decided to take a break from it. Instead, I've just been trying to diet and decided to add this supplement to my routine. I am pleasantly surprised at the affects. I usually get pretty bad sugar cravings in the mid afternoon but since I've started taking this, they are gone. It helps me get over the time of day when I'm tempted to eat poorly and that makes this totally worth the money for me.

Eh, not what I thought
I bought these because a friend told me it was a great diet supplement. When I got them my grandmother noticed the package and said "oh, honey you have diabetes too?" Apparently this is a supplement that diabetics take, so I never actually used them. I have 2 full bottles that I'm never gonna use :/
