Montserrat Our Home: Life with a Lava Dome Paperback – October 25, 2014

My son loves this book! He's only three so at first I thought it might be too difficult. But the rhyming is great and he loves trying to say the big words, "pyroclastic flow", "seismometer" and "vulcanologist". We read this book every night. Highly recommend for any volcano lover!

This beautifully illustrated and cleverly written children's book explores the volcanic island of Montserrat and what it's like to live with an active volcano. As a volcanologist who has worked for years on Montserrat and its volcano, I think this book is wonderful addition to educational outreach about natural hazards and volcanoes, a fantastic and scientifically accurate book for any child interested in volcanoes, and a great book for anyone who loves geeky science rhymes and adorable illustrations!

Amazing book that will take you to another place. Our son loves the colors and images (especially the page with fish) in the book which makes it easy for us to introduce him to advanced volcanology concepts, geography, and chemistry. This book would be great for earth science, geology, geography, and other classrooms.

This book is wonderful and informative for aspiring volcanologists of any age! The vibrant and detailed illustrations offer a glimpse not only inside the fiery depths of a volcano but also into island life at Montserrat. You will undoubtedly learn something new with this book! I used this book for my ESL family literacy class! The learners loved the rhymes so that they could practice pronunciation with their kids. Plus, learned about volcanoes!! The illustrations are really fantastic. My class loved this book!

What a wonderful book! Learning has never been so much fun. Take your child on a trip in their mind down to the Caribbean and the world of volcanos without leaving home. Then do it for real! What a treat!

I am actually an adult that bought this book to learn a little more about the island of Montserrat and how they look after the Volcano there. This book was brilliant, the illustrations were amazing and the information it provided was highly succinct and knowledgeable. Id recommend this for people of all ages.
