Toy Story/Toy Story 2 (Limited Edition) [DVD]

Toy Story has multiple age level value. Regardless of the viewrs sex or age it can amuse and entertain. A very young child can enjoy the movement and colour, the older child appreciate the wit and pace of story, and the adult - well they can find another level of humour but also take pleasure in getting some peace and quiet whilst younger family members are occupied safely. The plots are entertaining whilst not being graphically cruel or violent, and as with all good stories there is a moral and a happy ending. The skill of presentation, and use of well known actor voices mean entertainment is top quality. I have seen a three year old, ten year old and eighteen year old all laugh out loud at the antics. OK they are now getting to see 3D in the cinema but until technology is both available and affordable the DVD still has real value. I have been able to cope with it being played three times in a row without screaming. At these prices two films in one is a good option. The case is not that strong but overall it was good value. I think these are great - if you like Disney and Pixar then you will love the films - a true classic. Comedy in animation that goes beyond young child entertainment

when pixar released toy story, I dont know if there knew how big a hit they had on there hands, with the release of toy story 2 they took the original by the scruff of the neck gave it a good shake and came up with another blockbuster. I bought this dvd for my twin nephews who, at only 4 years old can already tell me the story to the first film from there comics. im sure they will enjoy this twin pack as much as anyone, any age who happpens to buy it or even watch at a friends house. keith - cheltenham

What could possibly be better than `Toy Story'? Two `Toy Stories' of course and this is exactly what you get in the BluRay boxset containing the first two films in the trilogy. Both films are excellent in their own right, `Toy Story 1' is the better in terms of storyline, but suffers slightly from old fashioned CGI. On the other hand, `Toy Story 2' has a slightly weaker story, but has brilliant CGI. To criticise either in terms of story of computer graphics would still be disingenuous as they are both two of the best cartoons since Disney first thought about freezing his own brain. With a box set that includes both films there are plenty of extras to keep fans of the films happy. All the extras from the original DVDs are present as well as a bunch of new featurettes and a sneak peak of `Toy Story 3', which a lot of people would have already seen. The only issue with this set is that with the launch of the third film it is outdated, why buy two thirds of a boxset? You are better off spending a little more money and getting all three films at once, and preferably copies with added DVDs and digital copies if you can. In 2009 this boxset would have been the bee's knees, but by the end of 2010 it is no longer such good value. There is no doubting that the films are timeless classics, it's just that you need all three to get a friend in them.

Great value. We had forgotten Woody and friends and the Buzz was in the loft. Then came Toy Story 3. We saw it at the cinema and then the kids wanted the old films out. Ours were on video and were a bit worn out. So I bought this compilation. Good value the local supermarket are charging [...] for Toy Story and Toy Story 2. Buy it here its a better deal and no compromise on the quality................ Toy story 4....... no doubt its being made right now,,,,,

i bought this for my daughter to watch, i love it sooooooooooo much, i know RIGHT, i'm a lady of 28 years young, haha. grow up is the word you were thinking right, hehe. its not a childish animation i think its the kind of animation that adults can enjoy with the kids, a family flick, we all watch it together every weekend, i'm sure we'll stop soon, but it is a great one, i'd suggest you to get this, so stop reading this and hit the 'add to basket' button! :)

I bought this DVD set for my 4 year old, she loves them and puts them on every day, we quite like to watch them too so it's money well spent. It's about a bunch of toys that belong to a little boy, the toys come to life and get up to all sorts of mischief. Animation is brilliant. Quite good value as you get two DVDs. Can't wait for Toy storey 3 to come out now.

Great and classic films... All in all, a must have.. unless you're waiting for the trilogy set :) ps - love this boxset!

Wer kennt sie nicht? Die 2 Filme, die in die Geschichte des Kinos eingingen. Der Erste, weil er der erste Abendfüllende animierte Film war, der Zweite, weil es schlichtweg eine Vortsetzung war, die dem Original in allen Belangen das Wasser reichen konnte. Ich habe beide damals im Kino betrachten können, jetzt bin ich 21 (ok, auch nicht alt ;D ) und liebe diese Filme immernoch. Ich werde daher auch nicht viel über die Qualität der Geschichten schwallen, denn entweder man mochte sie oder eben nicht und für mich gehören sie bis heute zu den seltenen Perlen, die einen ewig begeistern können. Story (falls tatsächlich jemand die Filme noch nicht kennt): Toy Story: Im Kinderzimmer geht die Post ab! Sobald Kind Andy sein Zimmer verlässt, werden seine Spielsachen aktiv und leben in ihrer eigenen kleinen Kinderzimmer-Welt, wobei Andys Lieblingsspielzug "Cowboy Woody" eine Art Leitung und Führung einnimmt. Dies ändert sich aber zum Geburtstag von Andy, als er das neue, coole Spielzeug "Buzz Lightyear" bekommt, welches sich nicht nur für einen echten Spaceranger auf Mission hält, sondern zu allem Überfluss noch Woody die Rolle des obersten Spielzeugs im Zimmer streitig macht. Toy Story 2: Woody wird entführt und soll an ein Japanisches Museum verscherbelt werden, da er scheinbar ein seltenes Sammlerstück ist. Der Rest der Kinderzimmer-Crew will dies natürlich nicht geschehen lassen und versucht ihn zu retten, was mehr Katastrophe als sonst etwas ist. Währenddessen trifft Woody auf unerwartete Gesellschaft... Bild und Ton: Das lässt wirklich keine Wünsche offen. Die Filme wurden sehr gut auf die Blu-Ray zugeschnitten und aufpoliert, sodass sogar der relativ alte erste Toy Story wirklich genial aussieht. Der Detailreichtum ist über jeden Zweifel erhaben und eine Pracht. Allein die Menü-Führung ist schon ein Spaß und super gestaltet und aminiert. So würde ich mir jede Blu-Ray wünschen. Der Ton steht dem in nichts nach. Die Stimmen sind klar, der Übergang zu druckvolleren Szenen ist richtig gut und die Bässe geben in rasanten Szenen ordentlich was her. Natürlich ist auch hier wieder die Englische Tonspur besonders zu empfehlen, allein schon wegen Tom Hanks als Sprecher von Woody. Specials: Die Bläulinge bieten nicht nur die bereits bekannten Bonusse der alten Special Editions, sondern zusätzlich noch einiges an Neuem, was extra für diese (BluRay-)Veröffentlichung aufgespart wurde. Somit ist jede Scheibe wirklich vollgepackt mit Kram und Infos und die Special-Fetischisten (zu denen auch ich gehöre) kommen voll auf ihre Kosten. Auf beiden Scheiben sind außerdem noch jeweils Ein- und Ausblicke zu Toy Story 3 enthalten. Fazit: Wunderbare Box mit 2 der Sternstunden von Pixar. Das Einzige was stört, ist der hässliche FSK 0 Aufkleber, der nun mal immer und grundsätzlich stört. Aber das ist ein allgemeines Problem und mindert in keinster Weise diese Collection Besser kann man es kaum machen und das zu einem unschlagbaren Preis. Zugreifen!

disc one came loose in the case so it’s a little scuffed up not sure if it’s because it’s used or because it was loose in the case however it still works I did have a play option it tells you on the screen that it is duplicated for home viewing so yes it’s a knock off but it’s still a movie to me it doesn’t matter as long as it plays and it’s the original I don’t care for the price of two discs and having full movies is all that matters I did have a play option that I had to click play for I have no issues. if you’re not a collector and don’t really mind that it’s “a knock off“ then it’s perfect for you ! 😁
