The liquid does not contain the sucrose or lactose used in the pellets, but it does contain 20% alcohol as a preservative. Five (5) pellets equal 10 drops of a liquid dilution. Twenty-five percent of adults in the U.S. are lactose intolerant. Lactose intolerance is a condition caused by a lack of an enzyme called lactase. The general approach to control symptoms of lactose intolerance includes avoidance of large quantities of dairy or foods containing lactose. Typically, it takes 12 g of lactose (1 cup of milk) to trigger symptoms. Five Boiron pellets contain 42.2 mg of lactose, and two Boiron tablets of most of our medicines contain 492 mg with the exception of two Acteane tablets which contain 120mg of lactose (0.35%, 4.1%, and 1% of the intolerance dose, respectively). These amounts are not significant enough to trigger symptoms in a lactose intolerant person. In addition, lactose must reach a person’s small intestine to trigger symptoms. Homeopathic pellets and tablets are absorbed sublingually, thereby bypassing the small intestine. Also, lactose intolerance and a milk allergy should not be confused. People allergic to milk are allergic to casein (a protein), not to lactose. There is no casein or other proteins in Boiron pellets or tablets. How do I get them out of the bottle?

You remove the small label from around the place where the 2 halves of the tube come together, then twist, upside down, until there are 3 -5 balls in the cap. Sometimes, the cap is still a glued to the bottom so you may need use something like a tweezer, or anything else that can scrap away the paper and glue. Hope this helps.
