Fresh Sugar Cane Sugarcane Saccharum Officinarum (5lb)

First of all having grown growing and eating sugarcane. I know it transporting of it affects freshness but quality not so much. This had neither worst quality tasted probably not mature. I have stored sugarcane for weeks but still had good taste . This was just bad quality. Just don't waste your money very unprofessional from the vendor . I would recommend Amazon to remove this person

The sugarcane arrived in great shape and was very tasty. Rather pricey but exactly what I wanted.Update: 4th purchase. From Golden Grande delivered 4/6/24 was terrible. Harvested young, strong taste of fertilizer, and probably beginning to rot. Not palatable. Give me cane from JL Capital Venture please. That's who sold me the previous 3.

When it arrived it was dried out and we threw it out.

I was worried about ordering this, but I was pleasantly surprised. The sugarcane arrived earlier than expected and in good quality.

Im going to give this 2 stars.It arrived a day early, I got 12 probably 6 inch pieces.I wouldn't say it was 5 pounds of cane sugar though, and 6 out of the 6 pieces were infected with mold or diseaseThe other pieces were promising and already had roots and small sprouts. I wouldn't eat them in the condition their in, but they will be good for planting, and the new generation should be better.I wouldn't get these again, only because of the condition they were in, and the price for half isn't worth it****Update****As of 8/15/15 im changing my review to ONE star. This product was absolutely horrible. It turns out, my remaining 6 pieces of cane was also infected with Red Root Rot. I ended up calling amazon to complain. They were very kind about it and sent an email to the distributor and within 24-48 hours i received my money back, less the S&H.I DO NOT recommend this product to anyone, especially for the cost. Go to Ebay where they provide current pictures of the cane, for half the price. If you had a bad experience, i would also contact amazon and complain so you can get your money back. Maybe if enough people complain, they will stop sending infected, rotted, diseased Cane.

The vendor sent me a large bag filled with these guys, and each one was about 3 inches in diameter. Once received, you have to eat them quickly because they’ll get fungus on them of some sort and when that happens, they need to be disposed of. As a result, the vendors send them quickly, and you have about four or five days in which to consume what you want. I figure it was a goodbye, and inexpensive cost for something we used to eat all the time in my childhood down in Savannah.

This came completely unpackaged and delivered through US mail. When we opened it it smelled of mold. Photo evidence of pink mold, white mold, and black mold as well as rot included. Also, it's illegal to send produce through the US Mail without packaging.

The sugarcane that was edible was very fresh and juicy. However the edible pieces were very limited. The amount paid for the sugar cane was not compatible with what was received. Whomever made the selection for shipment did not pay attention to the pieces selected. More than two-thirds of the sugarcane received had extremely small joints and definitely were not edible. I will Not purchase from this supplier again.
