It can break easily which is why I dock it some stars. But the thing works if you are careful with it. I grate fresh ginger that I freeze and take out when I need it. My last one broke because I held it in the air without support while I grated and it cracked. I got a different type of grater which was more solid and better designed but I discovered required a lot more effort due to blunt blades or something, so I got this one again and I just make sure to use it carefully so it doesn't break again. It is easy to use and easy to wash. I like it but you need to take care when grating so it doesn't break.

I didn't know what to expect because it was so cheap. I bought them for Xmas gifts, I sent homemade sourdough bread with an oil dipping sauce. It called for fresh garlic so I bought one of these to go in the gift with garlic cloves and the bread, it worked great. I'm glad I bought one for us to use.

This product does work, its a little awkward to hold and manage and slightly flimsy, but considering the price it is worth it.
