NOT a 1" as advertised
This is a decent haynet, the size is as advertised, it comfortably holds a 45 pound bale of hay. The nut size however is completely wrong for the item description, it says one inch holes but they measured almost to and are anywhere from 1 and 3/4 to 2 1/2 after a single day of use. If you truly need a 1-inch size net, don't buy this one, if you need something really big to hold a large quantity of hay, it's perfect. I had bought two originally and we'll end up double bagging one bale to try to get the net size approximated smaller. It's really stretched out after one day of use, with just one horse using it. Found a couple of weam spots in The netting as well, it's okay for now but I won't purchase it again

OMG goats can’t waste hay!
Finally a solution to my goats wasting at least half of every bale of hay!!!! It has taken me 10 years to find this solution. This one has the perfect size holes — not so big that they pull out more than they can fit in their mouths, but also not so small that they feel frustrated. (I tried two other brands before I found the perfect hole size for my Nigerian Dwarf goats). It took them a couple of days to figure it out but now it seems like they have more enjoyment eating because it drags out the process and keeps them occupied and possibly entertained for longer. I have one for each goat. There is still some wastage of course, but minimal compared to the old days. Yay!

Holes are not close enough to 1” to be advertised as such
The holes in this net are closer to 2” (at least 1.5 inches) than 1”. My horses can finish 8 lbs of hay from this bag in an hour.UPDATE 5/9/2019This net is now my favorite net. Ion the paste couple of months, I have done a lot of reading in the area of horse nutrition and feeding easy keepers. It seems it really isn’t good for them or accomplishing anything to feed them from nets with holes less than ~1.5”. In watching them eat, they don’t fight with this net like they do with one with smaller holes and they seem happier when eating from this one. It also holds a ton of hay! I have large, 3 string bales. I could get at least 4 flakes in this net (at least 16-18 lbs, possibly more).I didn’t give it 5 stars because the string keeps coming untied.

Just what I needed
The only thing I would change is the draw string on these. It is plastic and gets twisted too easily, and the ends came off resulting in them unraveling. I've melted the ends, but they still twist a lot. Otherwise, these are perfect for what I need. They open up pretty easily to fill and easy to weigh (important for my "easy keeper"). It is definitely slowing down the time it takes my horses to eat their hay, plus there is now little waste. This is making a huge difference. They are holding up very well especially since the horses are taking their frustration out on the bags because it us harder for them to get their hay.

Not as described
This was NOT a 1”x1” net. The holes were at LEAST 2”. I am very disappointed. My mare is a speed eater and I rely on the smaller holes to slow her down. Won’t be buying this net again.Derby Originals has horrible customer service. When told their item description utterly failed to accurately describe the product, they tried to UPSELL me to a more expensive, undesired product. One that serves my purposes even less adequately than what I originally ordered. We’re talking hay nets, people. I order only 1” hole hay nets because my horse is a vacuum cleaner and blows through her hay faster than we can put it out. What I ordered was advertised as 1”. What I got had closer to 2 1/2” holes. When I complained, I was given a coupon matching my expenditure to spend on a hay bag with 2” holes. One that I’ve used before and rejected. One that costs 20+ dollars more than the coupon allows. On top of that, I was mansplained to “hay nets stretch.” Yeah well then it’s not a net with ONE INCH HOLES.How about you simply advertise correctly? Update 2: they have now updated the description at least.

Knots do not hold
As none of the knots are tight this bag with 1.5" holes is actually worthless as a slow feeder since the holes easily expand to 4" or more. Tried to tighten some knots but they just opened up again.

Holes are BIG
Holes where WAY bigger than expected otherwise it is as described. Guess I will have to hang onto it for colder weather/bigger or harder to keep horse

Good bag - but holes are bigger than expected
Holes are really 2 inch. Arrived smelling like mildew, so I had to wash it. WIll try it and see, but wish the holes were smaller.
