It's small so doesn't take up too much room on my desk
I had Aerogardens years ago and wound up selling them. Now I'm doing Kratky jars inside for transplanting outside to my half-acre garden. I mostly direct-seed what I grow here in Zone 8a, but things like tomatoes still need to be started indoors. While I have the 1020 trays and all that paraphernalia, I just don't have the space for them. (Santa, please bring me a greenhouse this year!) So I decided to pick up this basic Aerogarden Harvest and the matching seed-starting tray for the sole purpose of getting my tomato transplants started indoors without too much fuss. This is a tidy little 6-pod unit. It's not the one I would have chosen if I were planning to grow a lot of salad veggies indoors, but it fits very nicely on my desk and the lights are bright enough to serve as a desk lamp without any other lights turned on. I bought it specifically because a 23-pod seed-starting tray is available for it, which I purchased at the same time. This will be dedicated to starting my tomatoes and growing them until they are large enough to transfer to Kratky jars and then on out into the garden.I have another knock-off Aerogarden that's a pain to work with. It's got 12 pods and is larger, which wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for the fact that you have to unplug and take the whole thing to the sink to clean it. This Aerogarden Harvest has a lift-out water reservoir that's easy to unhook from the main unit, and I far prefer the little water-viewing cut-out on the top of the tray to the side window on my knock-off unit; I can never see the water level because the light is always wrong. The way this Harvester unit is designed, checking water level is simple and straightforward.

Fresh Herbs on Demand, All Year Round!
Gone are the days of wilted supermarket herbs. This little countertop garden has been a game-changer in my kitchen! Basil for pesto, mint for mojitos, and cilantro for tacos - I've got fresh herbs thriving year-round, no matter the weather outside.Setting it up was a breeze, even for a total newbie like me. Just pop in the pre-seeded pods, fill the water reservoir, and hit the start button. The built-in grow lights and automatic reminders take care of everything, so all I have to do is snip and enjoy. My favorite part? Hosting friends for dinner and whipping up a fresh herb salad, straight from my mini garden. It's always a crowd-pleaser, and I love knowing exactly where my ingredients came from. If you're looking for a fun, foolproof way to grow your own herbs, this is definitely worth a try!

Remarkable little home hydro setup
Another christmas gift for the missus. She loves it and so do I. Really, really really easy to set up and start growing right away. We put the Italian herb pods in there, dumped in some juice and filled the reservoir and we had lovely sprouts within days. A month later and we've got six inch high basil, thyme, parsley and mint. Love it.My only complaints are that the instructions are a little cryptic and you have to kind of guess at whether you've set the lighting timer correct. I figured it out eventually with a little trial and error. And don't fool yourself that you can set and forget, because you still need to watch these things and prune them and make sure they aren't crowding each other out. Also, be aware that the lights on this thing are super, duper bright. Try and set the timer so that it's off at night because you can see this thing from space. If you have cats, consider setting it up on a shelf because ours loved to smack the caps off the pods and play around with the sprouts. We ultimately set it up in a cabinet with the door removed. This is apparently a no-no per the instructions but we haven't had any issues with airflow or heat retention. Just make sure there's room to raise the grow light once your sprouts start growing.
