Maximize the heat output of your Gas Fireplace, Simple Install
Installation was simple. Its a bit of a tight squeeze if you do not completely remove the lower grate but its possible to maneuver it in. Care should be taken while installing and there are many sheet metal screws that are exposed in the lower grate area. The performance and function of the fan is excellent. The variable speed knob allows the fan to operate at a very slow, whisper speed all the way up to hurricane force wind. It really doesn't take that much air circulation to push the heat out and into the room from the fireplace. I have settled on having the knob set to about 60% power which pushes a lot of air but does not produce that much audible noise.I think the thermostatic switch is probably the best thing about the fan. It prohibits the fan from turning on OR off until a specific temperature is reached. This is nice both during the warm up of the fireplace (not pushing around cold air) and after the fire place is turned off (pushing the remaining hot air into the room).I've noticed that we keep the fireplace on for much less time (used to run for about an hour, now its only about 20 minutes after the fan kicks on) as the fan really optimizes the heat being produced.I'd definitely recommend this product for anyone who does not have a fan pre-installed in the fireplace.

Great product and first rate customer service
I received this kit less than a week after ordering it, good quality, nicely done wiring and very well packaged.I had a minor issue with the rheostat and called customer service Friday morning after Thanksgiving, not really expecting anyone to be there. Much to my surprise, Jason answered right away and took care of my problem in a friendly and professional manner. You can buy these blower kits for a lot less from other places, but do yourself a favor and watch the video comparing FireplaceBlowersOnline kits to their competitors. I doubt the other places' customer service can match Fireplaceblowers either! First-rate company right here in America with real people to help if you need it.

Works well, easy to install
This product worked as expected, was easy to install, and is reasonably quiet. If you set the fan on high, it is a bit loud, but the high setting isn't necessary - having the fan on a lower setting puts out plenty of heat, at least for our needs. Not much to say about how it works - no surprises, which is a good thing. As for the install - make sure you have a 120v outlet already in place, preferably wired to a discreet location below the gas fireplace (in the same area where this fan will be installed), and confirm that it has power before doing the install. The fan itself should mount to some points in the back of the fireplace - one is a metal tab, which the right-side of the fan slips into, and the other is a metal bolt, which the left side slips over and is then bolted down.Another thing to note, which confused me at first: the temperature sensor, which automatically turns the fan on and off, is connected to a magnet - attach that directly to the bottom of the fireplace box. I mistakenly thought that it would get too hot in that location, but other locations didn't seem to get hot enough to trigger the switch to turn on the fan.

Paying for itself in Energy Savings
After receiving a huge electricity bill during Nov - Dec.($550) I decided to do something about it. I bought two of these blowers for my two existing gas fireplaces and I am projecting to save, based on previous electric base board heating, about $100 a month. So after buying two blowers I will have paid for these from the saving in electricity in just3 months. The product was shipped in just one week to the west coast of Canada which was half the time the shipping tracker was predicting. I did have a learning curve on my first install but by the second it was really easy especially when you opening the glass door of the insert to fit the blower in. The staff at Fireplaceblowersonline were very helpful on the phone and personable and I would definitely recommend this product! As others have posted I did have to buy 2 wings nuts that fit my Napoleon insert but 70 cents is not a big deal. The fan is fairly quiet and the quality of construction is very good.Just so everyone is clear about the plug, the product is shipped with a three-prong plug and also comes with a two-prong adapter with a grounding tab so that you can install a grounding wire (not included) to the frame of the fireplace.

Quiet, but a challenge to install
I have a Continental stove, and this item is indeed designed to install on the Continental mounting system. However, it was a very very tight fit, and it took some determination and ingenuity to get it to slide past the igniter system and into the back. Once there, I slid it easily into the tab on the right and over the post on the left. But, when it came to the step of installing the nut on the threaded post, the disappointment really hit as the supplied nut is too small. For now, it is held in place with a zip tie until I can make it to the hardware store to buy several likely candidates to find the right size. Since this fan is purportedly made for Continental, I would expect the hardware to fit. I have not bothered to contact the company yet and probably won't since the fix seem easy and I am at the store often. In operation, the unit is quiet and makes a big difference in heat output. In the final analysis, I am pleased despite the installation difficulty.
