These have been on my cabinets for 2 years and work flawlessly. They are completely solid. Not even an adult can open your cabinets when these locks are engaged. The only downside is that sometimes if I slam a cabinet the lock engages and I have to open it with the magnet. No big deal. I've just purchased them for my son and DIL. He is installing them himself and says they're a bit involved to put on properly, but worth it. He drilled through one cabinet front, but after that superglued a collar onto his drill bit to prevent over drilling again. I keep a two magnet openers on appliances at opposite ends of the kitchen, and I bought a few extra magnets to keep as spares.

Totally effective cabinet door locks. I’m pretty handy and the instructions and installation supplies made it easier. If you are not at all handy, I’d call a friend who was. These are great for use in an RV to keep the cabinet doors from opening on sharp turns.

Only reason they get a 4 and not 5 is they can be a pain to install as others have mentioned. And the instructions aren't that great. After looking on YouTube and such, (which I highly recommend), it's easier. The first one is really the biggest pain, and after you get the hang of it, things go much faster. Here's my suggestions... * Check several videos before you do this. * Do the first one in your least important location in case you screw it up. * I suggest using two - or three - drills if you have them. One for the small holes, one for the big on, and one for screws. Much faster to not be changing bits all the time. * If at all possible, use a stop collar for the large drill bit on the large hole. This will let you 'hog out' as much wood as possible without going through the front of the door. (Stop collars go on the bit and set a limit to the depth. You can use a piece of tape around the bit as a guide, but if you're pushing on the drill, you could go though by accident.) * The more wood you take out, the easier the magnets work, especially if you can fit in one of the metal extension posts. * If the magnets are still weak, but a couple of those super neodymium magnets. * I used small pieces of electrical tape cut like arrows, (you can barely see them), to mark the location to make it easy for wife and I to know exactly where to put magnets to open cabinet. Bottom line: They work. If installed properly, no way a toddler can just open these.

This is a great lock for a very clean aesthetic. It does take a few minutes to properly install but it works like a dream.

This is one of the best locks I have ever used. My husband and I had an 18 month old foster child that liked to swing our pantry door open and closed all day long. To the point he broke it from over extending it. So we got it fixed and bought these locks. They are a miracle! Easy to use and install. So functional. My favorite part is that you can lock them and unlock them whenever you want. Which was really convenient for us, since the 18 month old would have visits on the weekends with his parents so we could keep the cabinet unlocked while he was away but put it back to locked when he was with us. It’s helpful to have the lock/unlock function while I’m cooking dinner as well. So I can grab things easily without it being locked. Totally recommend! We love it!

These locks are great, BUT only for a thinner panel. Although the specs say they are good for 1 1/2 inch (actually 1 9/16 of an inch), the specs are wrong - they just don't work on thicker panels. We tried and tried to get them to work on panels 1 1/2 inch thick but they did not. We even to narrow it to just over an inch, but no go. We finally shaved to surface to 3/4 of an inch and they worked like a charm. But, product advertising ought to be corrected. Don't waste your money if it's for a thicker panel.

Like how solid they are but a bit tricky to install. Depth has to be perfect as magnets are weak. Had to buy another company's magnet to be able to open thru 1.5" cabinet.

I travel a fair amount and when I am away I like to "button down" my home as much as possible... I have a central station monitored security system, security lighting, and cameras but I wanted to add some extra security inside should someone break-in. I was especially concerned about securing my files in my office since I have a business and have customer records. I have some solid wood custom file drawers that I wanted to be able to lock when I was away.. I had two professional locksmiths at my home who could not give me a reasonable solution.. Then my handyman, told me about Rev-A-Lok and this was the solution.. We installed these little locks on drawers and doors all over the house which is going to make things even more difficult for anyone that chooses to break-in. These locks will not keep someone out who is willing to use tools and do damage but I can live with that.

Very discrete and well hidden. Recommend this to safely keep items locked away.
