The Two Ronnies - By the Sea & The Picnic [VHS]

What a great pair of funny and silent films on 1 DVD, by the TWO RONNIES. I couldn't find nothing intrested on the tv, so I waited for my 93 year Father to settle down on his chair before I turned on my DVD player, then inserted the DVD and began and sit back and press the play button and watch "The Pinic" made us laugh, then we watched the 2nd film: "By The Sea", Both film got my Father & I ending up in so many tears of laughter, as they're both put together really well.. These days, there are no other double comedy acts on tv like the TWO RONNIES who will always put a smile on so many faces.

This came as a bit of a surprise, as I thought it was a dvd. Hadn't got a vcr, so I watched it at a friends place. Excellent films, and well up to the Ronnies' standard. Decided to buy my own vcr, as I've got lots of tapes left. Bought one on ebay, and Yodel managed to deliver it to the wrong house in the wrong street in the wrong town. It's only just in the right county. So I still can't watch this at home. But it arrived in quick time and was well packed. Can't fault the seller, as it was my own fault, hence the 5 star rating. Read the small print guys.

This is a fine collection of "the best of the Two Ronnies", although such claims of the best are purely subjective on whoever decides which sketches are to feature, so what the compilers deem to be the best you may disagree entirelyFor example, I'm not a fan of (let alone understand some parts of) the 'Cinema Commissionaire' sketch on this video, nor did I find the Barber's Shop Melody particularly interesting when there's surely funnier material in the archive. The highlight in my opinion was 'The Optician's Sketch' but you'll have to see it to know what goes on... :)The famous Ronnie Corbett complete with chair that looks fit to collapse at any moment also features on here although not the best monologue of them all, I have to say. Also the inclusion of "The News" which is a base for some funny stuff based on your taste.If I was compiler, I have to say that I would have missed out some of the sketches on this video, but that's opinion for you.

Old fashioned FUN, pure nostalgia. Victor Meldrew loves it !!

The Two Ronnies - By The Sea / The Picnic [VHS] [1982 ]If you want a really good laugh ( and that means ALL the family) then get 'By The Sea ' - the two Ronnies and lots of other really great characters! It is the best short comedy I have ever seen. 'The Picnic'(also included) is almost as good - overall just the thing for a wet Sunday afternoon - I guarantee you will watch it over and over again, and still curl up laughing every time!

I was thrilled to have found this classic DVD original of which we damaged some years ago, it still makes us laugh, brilliant. Thanks to this seller who not only was asking a far less price than any others, but provided a fast and efficient service, we were very pleased all round with our purchase.

I have always loved this gem of a comedy film and after seeing negative reviews about the content on the DVD version, I didn't hesitate in buying the VHS version. I'm fortunate to have a fully working video cassette recorder however not everyone does these days, so come on, produce a DVD version that does this timeless piece of genius justice!
