Easy Peasy
2014 BMW X3. Tailigate LEDs not functioning. This job litterally took less than 15 minutes to accomplish. I replaced two bad boards in the tailgate lights. Took about 3 minutes to remove the light, about 10 minutes to take out the old defective board (the most time consuming task was removing the epoxy that was holding in the old board) and two minutes to put the light back in.Using this replacement board saved at least $500 bucks it would have cost at the dealership to have the problem fixed. The dealer would have replaced the entire lamp assembly. This little board is the culprit. The LED control board that is original with the car overheats and the solder crystalizes. This replacement board fixes that issue. BTW, it will work on the outside taillights as well. For me, all four LED control boards in our X3 went bad at the same time - the 2 tailgate light and the two outside lights. I used a different product to replace the outisde tailight LED control boards. That required wire cutting and soldering. This replcement board is much easier. It costs more, but worth it to avoid cutting and soldering. If you're even the least bit mechnically inclinded, this makes total sense and an easy job. If you aren't - ask your neighbor to do it and buy the pizza and beer, you'll still end up on the positive side of the ledger.

Works exactly as described, great replacement part
My fiance's 2015 BMW X3 rear (central) LED lights went out. With our experience dealing with BMW service, we knew that an OEM replacement would cost an arm and a leg. I decided to instead do some research on how to fix this issue DIY and I came across this aftermarket replacement module. There are other fixes available online if you research BMW forums, many of which include soldering the existing module circuit board, but I consider myself an extreme novice in any sort of DIY projects, so a replacement plug-and-play board made the most sense to me.There are a bunch of YouTube videos posted online that detail how to install this piece. I don't consider myself much of a handyman, but I was able to install this with ease (~15-20 mins) by following the videos and by taking my time to ensure I don't damage any parts. If you're a newbie like me, one thing to note is to really be careful when popping out the headlight assembly. If you use too much force, and at the incorrect angle, you may snap off the tab from the headlight assembly that positions the taillight in place. I almost did this, but again, just follow the videos. A small hiccup I had was putting everything together. After I had popped the taillight out, the aforementioned tab seemed to have deformed and the taillight wouldn't sit snug. Don't panic! I was able to tighten everything perfectly into place once you screw on the yellow "connector" piece, as is seen in the first and last step.Everything works, and I'll definitely be going this route again if we encounter any more issues with the LED lights in the future.

Easy fix for BMW X3 tail lights
It’s very common to have problems with the rear lights on BMW X3 F25. This controller fix it super easy. I did the replacement myself just watching a video on YouTube. I changed both sides and never had light issues again. Totally recommend it

Worked great
Easy install on my son's BMW and fixed the problem that BMW said was an $800 repair. Fixed for $30, that oughta tell you something about BMW.....but thats a different story....all I can say is these were incredilble plug and play units that anyone with a modicum of ability and a couple simple hand tools can install. (In fact, if my son could do it no one should be afraid) Seem to be holding up so far after a month with no problems. On his X3, to fix the left side (lamp on door and lamp on fender) it takes two units. No soldering required.

Works great. But thinner than OE board.
This fixed the non working LED section of my 2011 BMW X3 tail light cluster. BUT, it is thinner than the original BMW circuit board, so it does not sit in the holder slot. Electrical tape was needed to keep it in place since it was too thin for friction to hold in place.

Thank you
My daughter got her first car and a month later my dad noticed her tail light was out. We looked around and service places were going to charge $150 up front for diagnostics (and take that off the end price if we went forward) but she had just put down her entire savings as a down payment on the car. I'm not a mechanic by any stretch, but we undid a couple of screws and some quick tests and found that this board worked on the other side. Switched sides and now the other light wasn't working. I took a photo and looked up the part number online and found it here. Bought it and it was delivered super fast for MUCH less than $150. I even showed my daughter how to disassemble her tail light housing and she was able to replace this board herself after school. We saved so much money AND she got the great feeling of satisfaction as she fixed her car by herself! Such a great purchase. Thank you!

Perfect and Simple
Big win. Huge cost savings vs dealership/shop and simple to install. Hardest part of the instalation process was finding the right socket head to remove two nuts due to the length of the bolts. Saw some reviews with packaging issues but mine was packaged in a tiny protective box. The other negative I saw was that this piece may interfere with the hands free lock/unlock but I am not having any issues with that at all so far. Cannot recommend this more highly.
