I have 6 of these reels (4000) size that I use for salt water bay fishing. They have seen 6 seasons of use. I wash them down with the drag end of spool up and have no issues with the mechanicals. My only complaint is some of the diecast plating is flaking and pitted on some reels, but not others. The aluminum and stainless steel parts look great. I have about 300 days of casting jigs for seatrout, snook, and redfish. I will definitely buy these again. Cast quality with braid is exceptional.

He was excited when he received this for Christmas. He said it’s so smooth reeling in and very lightweight. Very quiet and durable. Great find and great price.

Updated 9/23 We have been using these reels several times a week on our boat and on the pier (all saltwater fishing) for over a year and four were still going strong until we got caught in a strong rain storm. Shortly after that the anti reverse stopped working. I took the reels apart and the roller bearing and race for the anti reverse were badly rusted. No matter how much I cleaned and lubricated I couldn't fix them. All the internal parts are metal and rust resistant EXCEPT the anti reverse bearing. We had to toss two. Don't let water get inside the top. Original review This is a good, well built reel. It is heavier than some because it is metal. The spool seems like it holds less line than similar reels of this class. Next time I'll buy one size larger

Very smooth, both casting, and reeling. Great on distance, with very little throwing motions. Geared to retrieve big, little, and medium size fish. "Awesome", piece of equipment.

Good product for the money

Original reel lasted 2 weeks then froze up. Requested return/replacement. Lasted 1 week of surf fishing before this froze up. Didn’t bother returning the last two I purchased. Both stopped braking then froze up also. Don’t waste your money, these are not designed for heavy duty surf fishing.
