Will this work on sliding glass windows? like you see in a doctors office?

If you have the space between them for the Burglabar to slide behind it should be OK. The glass also needs to be smooth

In the right-angle-posititon, how far does the horizontal piece protrude from the glass. My RV closet doors have a one inch gap between them.

It sticks out about an inch-and-a-half. Our doors have a similar gap, and this keeps them right where they belong. We mounted our about half-way up from the floor, and about a quarter-inch away from the other door. No rattle, no stick in the track, no worries. -- I hope this helps. -- John L

I need a solution to prevent a double sliding window from being opened more than a couple inches when I'm not home. Will this work?

Not exactly sure what you mean when you say a double sliding window, however, if it is one sliding window on each side of a plate window, you would want to use one burglabar one each side of the plate window to prevent each individual windows from being opened. I hope that makes sense.

we have them in the house we are renting and like the security of them however they tend to flop down and will not stay up. how do we secure them?

You mentioned that one still has the pin and the other does not have it any more. Those are not my Burglabars . Those are the original ones and the Patent has expired for others are now making them. The pin was designed to hold them in place so when they are broken or the tips worn down they do not hold the "L" position any longer. Ours do not use the pin any longer so they do not flop down and we sell ours under our company name Rishon Enterprises Inc. Hope this helps.
