I am so very happy I bought this burner. I use it to pressure can and it works great saves space so I don't have my stove tied up.

I really like it. I was very suspicious at first cause I’ve had bad experiences with hot plates. But this is a workhorse. Heats up quickly but not surprisingly so. It is very stable. It has a sturdy plug and base. Easy to clean. No corners where food can lodge. I gave it 5 stars and it deserves all 5. But follow the directions and burn off the coating before using it for cooking. Do it where there is lots of ventilation. Btw, I bought this for my RV.

It worked good for me. I bought it July of last year and now it doesn’t work anymore… when it did work …it worked great …the knobs get hot… anyway …now I need to buy me a new one! But I think I will try a different brand that doesn’t last just for one year and that the knobs are so hot!!

It is lovely, sturdy and functional. I love that it has an on/off safety dial on the back of the burner, which keeps children from being able to turn the front dials on.

I'd return this if I could but I missed the return window by just two days. When I first received this product I ran it (outside) as directed to burn off the smell, which seemed to work as expected. I then boiled a pot of water on it for another half hour just to be sure to burn everything off. Everything seemed to go as expected and the smell quickly faded. Then I tried using it last weekend (inside) to cook something and there was a horrible burning plastic odor which just got worse the longer it was on. I got concerned and set it outside and tried running it again with a pot of water on it and the burning plastic odor got even worse. It got so bad it wafted into the open windows and stank up the house. I tried it one last time the following day just to be sure and again, terrible smell. It smells like burning plastic and I fear the unit may catch fire. It can't be used in this condition. I tried to find contact info on the manufacturer's website without any luck so I'm complaining here. Unfortunately it appears I have wasted my money.UPDATE: Cusimax reached out to me offering me a replacement and/or refund so changing rating to 3 stars for good customer service. Will see if the problem happens again with the new unit.

Ok. I have no stove in my basement apartment. I was using 1 of those cheap electric burners from the big blue box store (you know the one) and it could barely boil 3 cups of water. Not only that but it was impossible to clean.This 1 is soooo much better I can't beloeve it. When I boil my 3 cups of water I have to turn it _down_ because it boils so hard it splashes everywhere. I have boiled 3 quarts of water with no problem. I have not tried more than that. The knobs do get hot, but not so much that its usually a problem for me. I also set it on a cooling rack inside a cookie sheet so the fact that the whole thing is hot is a non issue for me.The user manual warns about the device smoking the 1st time you use it. IT DOES!!! It set off the smoke detector, and my upstairs roomate came downstairs to find out what the smoke smell was. There was smoke coming out of every single opening, even from behind the knobs. It did not all burn off with the 1st use either. It took several uses before I no longer noticed the smell. My advice, take it outside, plug it in, and let it go until the smoke is all gone before you use it inside.Now it's something I use daily and am so pleased with that it makes me smile every time I use it.Im thinking about buying another...Highly recomend!!!
