Schaum's Outline of Differential Equations, 4th Edition

I used this book last year when I took differential equations online and found it to be very helpful. I actually found the level of difficulty of most of the problems to be higher than those I encountered on my exam. Maybe it was just me, but I feel like if you work through the problems in this book, you will be more than prepared to encounter whatever you may come across in a differential equations class. If you put in the work and pace yourself through the exercises (trying some of the easier and more difficult ones) you'll be fine. Highly recommended!

Great problem solver. If you are someone who learns by example and not so much with theory, you should get this. I still failed the class because my professor was a SELF RIGHTEOUS ARROGANT person who didn't like me. I also got this book 3 weeks before finals when my grade was already unsalvageable. But had I gotten it at the beginning, an above average grade would have resulted without a doubt. Also don't be afraid to drop classes to get different profs. That helps too

Bang for your buck, best DE book practice you can have. So cheap and useful! Has both differential equations and some linear algebra.

This Schaum outline is not the first book to go to to gain a good understanding of the topic of D.Eq.. It is good to review some problems but solving many different problems without first having built a good understanding what differential equations is , makes a student forget key ideas essential to remembering why the subject exits. So my feeling it is a good supporting tool but not meant to get a good grasp as to why you are studying D.E. . Good luck. Gerard

While not a complete introduction to the theory of Differential Equations, this guide shows practical examples that are useful as a supplement to a more traditional textbook. Would recommend for anyone interested expanding their mathematical aptitude.

This text gives the reader a thorough and the easy to follow review of differential equations. There is an abundance of solved example problems.

These books, including the Dummy series, have limited usefulness. The nomenclatures9 used in the text book that you are using at your college by a particular professor may or may not be same as what is in this book., and this could lead to all sorts of problems. The solutions steps in the book and the material covered and stressed in your book maybe different, as it was for me. So, the bottom line is that these books could help, but so far not so much. Getting s solution manual for your particular text book appears to me a better solution, as it has been for me.

This book arrived very punctually in new condition. Useful in my private tutoring and research work.

Ce sont surtout les exercices pragmatiques avec leur corrigés, qui font que ce livre vaut bien davantage que tous les cours sur les équa. diff. que j'ai lus ou suivis.
