Moen LR8724DW Home Care 24-Inch Grab Bar, Glacier

The built-in hand grips are nice. I installed this for my mother-in-law and it really made a difference in her quality of life. The plastic cover and hand grips are much nicer to grab onto than a cold chrome model.

It is not clear from the description, but this bar has a rubbery surface on the outside, and small finger grips on the underneath side; this is far superior to the smooth ones that can be somewhat slippery. I installed these vertically next to the frame of the door leading out to my garage as there are three steps down and no handrail. I could only find them in 24" or 12" sizes, which is a shame because they are a fantastic product. Frankly, I wish I had found these before installing the smooth type in all my bathrooms. This is a fantastic product and very reasonably priced.

lots of room to grab easily. I mounted it at an 45 degree angle so it could be reached from both a sitting and standing position.while there are 2 mounting holes on each end, it only came with 2 lag bolts. they were of more then adequate strength.needed a socket ratchet to tighten them down. the bar is very sturdy and has a curled grip on the inside for wet hands.my wife says it makes her feel very secure when using the shower.would recommend to others and purchase again. looks good as well.

This looks and feels exactly like what I was looking for, but I need to find a handyman to install it. I'd try it myself, but I know I'd botch the task, 'cause I just don't have the right tools. I'll edit this review when I get it installed and make sure it works like it's supposed to.

My mom was so upset when she learned that we had to equip her home bath with "handicap bars" to facilitate her in-home rehab... she did not like the thought of ruining her pretty walls with "those big ugly chrome rails". So, for me, this was a compromise which ended up being a blessing in disguise. These bars are not only beautiful, but have great texture and grips (Think slick chrome bars in the shower or a bath area - WATER - in general! A hazard if you ask me.) They were relatively easy to install on drywall and in the shower (tiled). She said her bathroom is a "spa" now.Probably the best thing for me besides the safety/peace of mind? Buying on Amazon was like getting 2 for 1 deals. ONE of these bars was priced 2X HIGHER at the home improvement stores I went to.

These bars are excellent and easy to install. Purchased for my 90 yr old mother. I REALLY love that they are not slippery chrome. These bars have a nice texture and grip to them with finger holds on the underside. Nice price too!

Wonderful non-slip grip, easy to install, good looks at a fantastic Amazon price which was half of the box store price! I think every shower should have one of these for safety sake regardless of the age or health of the users because anyone can slip in the shower. This bar is so much nicer then the traditional slipery round chrome grab bars you usually see in baths, it has an overall textured surface with a rubbery finger groove inset on the inside face. A real life saver when you need one.

solid and very safe feel ... they are hard to find at a reasonable price ... and i am angry at Moen because 16" along with 9" and 24" would be a perfect product lineup.... but no... they don't bother making the most all around usable 16" .. and this was the answer I got from Moen when I called their customer support. I firmly believe they are missing a money making opportunity. Their metal ones are actually unsafe. They are like vaseline coated when wet. I was save from a fall when my hand slid off and I had to quickly grab a wall and the shower curtain.
