Lots of bass! Maybe too much. Great headphones with a little help. Big-Time VALUE!
I just opened these headphones and played with them and today is 2/24/19. I'll put up an updated review after I put them through their paces. For fitment: I'm a 6'3" 200lbs man with a fairly large head and one could assume I have large ear canals...I have no idea lol. Right out of the package without playing with the sizes, they are the most comfortable perfect fitting earbuds I've ever used. Zero noise leak, not worried about them falling out...perfect. I was worried because these didn't have the outer hooks that are on other similar earbuds. I was using a pair before these that didn't have the hard part of the neck band and the wire would get stuck on the back of my neck and a quick look to the left or the right would pull out an earbud from the opposing side. Now that I have a stiff neck band I have no fears of that. The earbud magnets: ..are strong. You can hang them off of a metal surface when not in use. That's a nice perk. My old ones with out the stiff neck band part had weak magnets and would not stay together and one side would slowly dangle down until the ultimately they just fell off. I have no worries that these will stay put on my neck whether in use or not.The ANC (active noise cancelling): It's not the life-altering-borderline-anechoic-chamber-ANC like Bose. But for the price point it is a nice addition and it does work. It works mostly on removing low droning sounds like fans and road noise while driving. Honestly, anything more is overkill, unless you need the Bose type silence for a special case. I personally want to hear if someone is really trying get my attention when I have them in but aren't currently listening. It also has an "Environmental" setting which is suppose to increase the room sound like I would think the Bose "Hearphones" actually do. It's a very mild version that only really just increases the low rumbling ambient and not any voices...I can't imagine using this for any reason. So, on these Akamate earbuds the ANC settings are ON, Environmental, and OFF...you can not adjust the amount. The sound: All I have to say is BASS. Honestly the built in sound profile is almost muffled to over accentuate the bass even more. I was almost disappointed because I like a good mid to high range as I mostly listen to podcasts and like a clean bright articulate sound. Most people giving reviews today are mostly listening to music, I guess, because they can never get enough bass in the tiny earbuds. I get it but I need it in the middle, at least. They're loud enough too. I solved my problem by down loading an EQ app on my phone and voilà! I AM IN LOVE WITH MY NEW HEADPHONES!So much that I had to write a comprehensive review....and I almost never even do reviews. Can't wait to put them to the test for the next couple weeks and tell you how the battery is and all of the unforeseen issues.

TL: DR This is a decent set of in-ear headphones that are good enough, but not great.
TL: DR This is a decent set of in-ear headphones that are good enough, but not great.Construction: These headphones are decently constructed with a good amount of flex to the band. The band feels to be a more premium type of plastic than the housing for the buttons. The housing for the buttons I imagine will show a good amount of wear over time, being a cheap-feeling black plastic. The cords that lead to the earphones themselves is a standard rubber type casing with a decent amount of flex. My concern with the cord is that it might be slightly too short for some people, causing the housing and neckband to pull up off the body. The earbuds themselves are a little big, but comfortable in my ears. The housing is plastic like the rest but has some weight to it because of the magnets in them. When it comes down to it, with head shaking, I haven't been able to make them fall out of my ears. The housing has the normal set of buttons but it angles down with the buttons facing the body, making them hard to get to. This is something that you can get used to but can be annoying at times.Sound: These sound okay. The bass is overemphasized and the mids and highs are pulled back. Because of this, you get a more rounded sound that can hide and muddy vocals and instrumentals. They are still there but not as pronounced as I would like them to be. This causes me to turn up the music louder so I can have the vocals and instrumentals where I want them. I would recommend using an equalizer to remedy this issue. On the bright side, this tuning gives these headphones a warmer sound, which makes listening to them for long periods of time easier on the ears than other headphones. The sound to me is okay, but to others, I'm sure they will do just fine.Features: This is the section where they make up points, in my opinion. They come with some nice to have features. Fist off the magnet is nice to have in the earpieces. When you take them off they come quickly together, making it harder to lose one to the side. They also have a decent active noise canceling system. It isolates most of the background/droning noise around you for a more focused listening experience. It isn't the best I have had, but it does a decent job. They also have an environmental mode, but to me, it just sounds like everything in the environment is amplified and in a fish bowl. Because they don't have they greatest isolation, to begin with, I would not bother with the environmental mode and just use them with the noise canceling off in the case where I want to hear things around me.Now to some quirks that I have found. They do have play/pause and separate control of volume. This is implemented in a strange way that can take away from the listening experience. The volume up and down buttons are marked with a + and - button respectably and work the way you would expect them to. Same with the play/pause button. You can also hold the play/pause button for voice control which is nice. Now, this is where I find it distracting and weird. To go forward a track you must press and hold the - button for a few seconds and to go back a track you need to press and hold the + button for a few seconds. This not only takes longer than I would like, it often times I find myself going the wrong way because of the flipped nature of this operation. Also, the ANC button turns on noise canceling, but instead of just toggling and initializing, it takes time and speaks to you letting you know what just happened. This is a feature that I am not a fan of but other people may like. All in all, I would recommend this product if you would like a Bluetooth headset that is decent and has some interesting and nice features. It isn't the best in any category but it does each well enough to get you by.

More than expected
I bought a new tablet but didn't realize that it didn't have an earphones jack. It only used Bluetooth earphones. I had never used a Bluetooth earphone before and didn't know what to expect. I ordered it and couldn't be more pleased. It arrived in one day. I am not one to read directions but was able to connect it to my tablet in a matter of minutes. It was that easy. Now each time I turn it on it automatically connects. All I wanted was some earphones and what I got was a whole lot more. It has an impressive hard carrying case that stores the earphones, the USB cable for recharging and some extra foam ear pads of different sizes. It has a neck band that has all the controls. From there I can control the volume and pause or start the video or music I'm watching or listening to. And did I say it has a built in microphone? Through it I can use voice controls on my tablet or access OK Google. If I connect it to my smartphone I can also answer and control my calls. It has a couple of modes. One is called ANC which simply means that it eliminates outside noise. The other is environmental which let's you hear the outside sounds if you need to. It is so comfortable to wear I even forget I'm wearing it.I am extremely pleased with my purchase. It does everything I need it to do and more.
