Just as good as the first.
I think this cd is just as good as the original 3030

Spaceman, get ready for a Futuristic Funk Fest!
Being a fan of Deltron 3030 I had high hopes for this album, but at the same time a sinking feeling that it may not live up to the original. I was VERY pleased with this album. It lived up to all my expectations plus some. This is a great listening experience. It's one of those rare albums that takes your mind on a sonic trip away from the ordinary. It's a great journey for sure. Put on some headphones and take a vacation. Yeah, it's that kind of album.Event II really expands the 3030 universe. It delivers all of what you liked in 3030, but has a new sound. These guys are not going to give you the same thing you have already heard. No stagnation is found here.Dan the Automator does what he does best and absolutely kills it with the beats/music. A total sonic adventure. Del the Funky Homosapien aka Sir DZL flows like only Del can. This album has so much meat to the lyrics you can listen to it 20 times and hear something new each time. Del doesn't mess around. A lyric may seem cut and dry on a casual listen, but then if you look deeper he has woven so much into it that may not be first noticed on that casual listen. He's a true wordsmith on the top of is craft. Finishing the trio Kid Koala brings his amazing turntable work to the Album. He really nails it! Simply amazing. There are tons of guests on the album. They are all a great fit. I don't know how such a diverse group could all fit so well but they do. They all bring the best of their craft. This album is a must have as far as I am concerned. It's one of those albums you can listen to hundreds of times for years and years. It is great on a casual listen, but it's gonna take you many listens to discover all the hidden gold here. Intelligent Lyrics, a great story, amazing music, and as I said before, it is a vacation for your ears. Pop on your headphones, close your eyes and be prepared to be blown away! The record sleeves have really nice artwork on them, and being a record, the pictures are very big. If you are a fan of the art, you will really like the outer and inner sleeves of the record.

Sweet
We all know the story here, we all know about the waiting and the not knowing so let's just put that behind us.I think that as a whole Event 2 was pretty good. I think that the collaborations were interesting if you do not look at them from the 3030 lens that all of us have. While the collaborations were original, I think that they were not extensive enough: frequently they were just a few lines or chorus for each song. If De la Rocha had gotten a rap verse on Melding of the Minds that could have been really sick. But instead we just get the chorus. What is this loneliness had Damon Albarn, and Casual, and Casual is good, but it is a standalone single that doesn't really contribute to a narrative. The artists talk about a whole lot of thigs, space invaders, vessel hijacking, etc., but it wasn't quite as focused as, say, "virus". I think it also would have been cool if the performers had been integrated further into the album, maybe doing their own "skits" at the end of songs. I loved Do you remember: I think it is del's best track with some great pacing and ideas. I think his lines fit the theme of Jamie Cullum's chorus really well.(I know I said I'd put it behind us but I apparently can't...) The differences between the two are extensive. In my opinion, I would say 3030 is aggressive, serious, ruminative, immersive, pointed in its wit, and just plain badass. It is easy to understand and side with deltron's quest in the 3030 universe. But it isn't as easy in Event 2. Deltron doesn't seem as powerful: the world hasnt collapsed in the same way, and now gentry comedians get a voice on the state of the nation (really just the state of culture, not politics). This and a skit about pork buns replaces the skits depicting poverty and pollution in 3030. Maybe it is precisely this split that Event 2 is trying to highlight... hmmIf event 2 and 3030 were truly in the same universe, and I didn't know the background of the story, I would say event 2 sounds more like prequel to 3030. A pre-collapse, less aggressive 3030. Still awesome.... when does the next deltron album come out?

High quality hip-hop with timely lyrics
I'll start by saying that I can't judge this album relative to Deltron 3030 for you. This album stands on its own, and features brilliant performances from the featured players (Del the Funkee Homosapien, Dan the Automator, and Kid Koala) and guests (too many to name). The beats are crisp and thrilling. The scratches are seamless and fluid. The flows are interesting and contemporary while coated in scifi garb. And yes, the sketches are funny. But again: only you can judge it relative to the original Deltron 3030 album. I don't know what that album meant to you, and so I can't tell you whether this one is better or worse. I can say this album stands out less than the original, as a natural consequence of being a faithful sequel. I don't see any way around that: its predecessor reshaped the landscape and influenced the concept of concept albums in the decade since.Deltron Osirus has a lot to say in this album and Automator helps paint the auditory picture of the future, which is an amplified version of our present. It's worth a listen, and I hope you enjoy it.Furthermore, the MP3 deal pairing the album and instrumental album together for one price is a fantastic idea.

You pay the price, and enjoy an album that is very nice
Once again Del and the guys have released a wonderful album to enjoy your finite time of life with. Many of the songs are evocative for our current span in history, regarding credit, the youth, and profiteering from the masses. Very few albums make me listen to it endlessly, and also give me a sense of imagery to what the world may become as time progresses on. Just like his other album, Deltron 3030, the gang have done a wonderful job, it was well worth the wait for the creation of this album. Sadly music like this isn't played on the radio, at least not here on the California airwaves. I wish it did but oh well, more thought for me I suppose. Great album, I'll probably buy the CD soon enough as well also.

Well worth the wait!
This album was well worth the decade of time in between. Chock full of guest appearances and every song makes use of a full orchestra which make all the songs sound epic. The album art and cover are pretty slick too. it is worth the price!

deltron kick arse...again
lots of my mates were upset back when the original was released, no follow-up, until now. arguably one of the best albums i bought in 2013.

It's the year...2013
Favoriten sind "The Return", "City rising from the ashes" und "Do you remember".Ich habe lange nicht mehr ein SO komplettes Album gehört. Genial! In jedem Fall DAS Album des Jahres für mich, wenn nicht sogar mehr! Ein ehrwürdiger Nachfolger, und eine klare Kaufempfehlung!!

Love it!
Maybe a little less out there than the 1st (which is a big reason why I liked the 1st one so much), but stands alone as a great album.
