Knitter's PrideDreamz Straight Needles Set 10", Sizes 2.5/3mm to 11/8mm

Comfortable needles with a nice smooth feel. The tips are just right- not too pointy or too dull.If you knit a lot like I do then having the best tools are a must. Can’t go wrong with Knitters Pride.

UPDATE (16 February 2015): It seems my previous update was not approved for some reason, but basically I wrote that I found the finish on the Knitter's Pride needles to be superior to that of the KnitPicks Harmony needles, which squeaked when I used them. I got the same sensation as one might get from scratching one's nails on a chalkboard. The Knitter's Pride needles are much smoother and quieter, in my opinion. The two times I ordered Knitter's Pride needles, though--this time and the time I mention below--I had problems with the zipper on the case. I still think the needles are worth the risk of getting a faulty case.Really nice set of smooth needles; the US sizes appear on the tops of the knobs; the US sizes and millimeter (mm) sizes are printed on the needles themselves. (I didn't have this set for long, so I don't know when the printing on the needles would have worn off. I assume that it would have at some point.) I wish the colors of the needles were lighter, though. Also, after minimal use and less than a week in my possession, the pull tab of the zipper broke off, making it difficult to open and close the case. I hadn't even been opening the case every day of that week. I expect better from a product at this cost. I sent the whole thing back and hesitate to buy it again because a) I don't like how dark the needles are and b) I'd hate to get another case with a zipper that falls apart after less than a week. I intend to try the KnitPicks Harmony set of ten-inch needles, because the needles seem to be lighter in color. I can always make my own case for the needles, since I dislike the fact that the Harmony needles come in a vinyl holder.

These are nice needles that come in a nice-looking case. There's something satisfying about having nice tools, and I feel spoiled having my needle case match my pattern holder. But that's not why I bought this set. I REALLY like having my straight needles, dpn's, and circular needles all color-coded so that it's very easy to find the size needle I want, and easy to swap back and forth. This is a fabulous idea. No matter which type of needle I'm using, I know that green needles mean they're size 4. I can cast-on using my straight needles, then switch to the circular needles, or I can work with the circular needles, but switch to dpn's for mitten thumbs, and just grab the same color needle that I'm already working with, without having to stop and put a couple pair through my sizer to find the right size. Unfortunately, the color choices are not ideal. Have you ever tried to knit with black yarn on black needles? Even purple against green is hard to see. Dark yarns against dark-colored needles do not make for an enjoyable knitting experience. Although I initially liked the elegance of such a nice quality needle, it didn't take long until I started hating using them because they're so hard on my eyes. I've had them for three years now, and only take them out of my knitting bag to show to other knitters. I don't knit with them, which means they were a waste of money.

FABULOUS!These needles are great. For the most part, great tips, very smooth finish and make knitting a pleasure. I opted for them over a competitor's brand solely because of the color coded sizes. This was especially important because the competitor makes all its dpns the same color and does not stamp a size. Unfortunately, what I am finding with this set though is that there are 4 or 5 pairs that are very dark in color. This makes it extremely hard to work with dark colored yarns. I am sorry I did not go with the natural birch.

These needles make me feel like Goldilocks. Not too sharp, not too blunt. Not too slippery, not too grabby. I'm an "advanced beginner", I guess you'd say, and these are wonderful for me. I can control my yarn better than with metal, but I'm not slowed down like with bamboo as I have advanced and picked up speed. These are very comfortable in my hands. Metal makes my hands hurt after a while, but not these. The tapers are a good length and able to get into and around stitches very well. Every size is a different colour, which not only makes size identification easy but also just makes knitting fun. It may be a bit problematic if your yarn ends up the same colour as the size needles you're using, though.

These are excellent knitting needles for all levels of knitters! I prefer wood to metal and these hardwood needles glide smoothly and effortlessly through all types of yarn without slipping like many metal needles seem to do. The tips are quite pointed making the needles great for various yarn. The colors are deep and attractive and make distinguishing sizes easy and effortless. The case they came in is attractive and sturdy and fits nicely in my knitting bag. I recommend this set of knitting needles for all knitters!

These exceeded my expectations. My only experience with wooden knitting needles had been bamboo. These are so smooth, light and warm in the hands. Well worth the price, and the time it took for shipping internationally. I will be using these for years to come, and highly recommend them for anyone looking for quality knitting needles. The case they come in is very nice. the picture for the item doesn't do it justice.
