Great build quality just SO INSANELY BRIGHT
These are truly great red lights, however they are just so insanely bright for what I need them for. I would assume most people buying these are using them for star parties and astronomy related stuff as the red light doesn't cause you to lose your night vision so easily. However these are just so blinding bright that the losing your night vision part goes right out of the window. I was able to fix this by putting some extra red cellophane over the top of each lens, but I just could have easily done that with a regular flashlight. IT would have been nice if they were adjustable brightness. If you're using these for astronomy take a hard pass, if you're using them to land a 747 jet on a dark runway, than you are definitely in luck!

Very Bright for Red LED Flashlights
As Professional Nature Photographers, we need night equipment that works, and these Red and Green LED Flashlights perform very well in total darkness. We bought these mainly because of their shell color, because we have both the Red and Green ones, and this makes it every easy to tell which flashlight is which without turning them on, especially in a camera bag at night. On a recent night trip to the back animal enclosures at Grandfather Mountain, these flashlights out performed everyone else on the tour to see the cougars and bears in pitch blackness, without hurting the animal's eyes. The zoom out produced a 6' round light on the ground, making it safe to walk on the trail. For the Maximum Brightness, we recommend operating these on 14500 3.6v 2400mAh Lithium-Ion batteries, which produce about 3x the light of 1.2V rechargeable AA or standard 1.5V AA batteries.~PhotosByMeta

Seems solid, good bright/dim settings, less annoying than other three-setting lights
I can't speak to battery life or durability yet, as the product just arrived, but it seems to be solidly made. The red light is important to me to avoid disrupting my circadian clock with (blue-containing) light in the nighttime; it is also good for preserving night vision for e.g. astronomy or other situations where one wants to look at a well-lit page and then back at something dark. This particular red light has a nicer control than most, in that a moderate press on the power button turns it on and off, but a light press switches modes; this makes it possible to go through all the modes quickly without feeling like one is wearing out the switch (or thumb), and in particular makes it easy to go from "low" to "off" in a way that means the next "on" will give low light again: two very light taps on the button, followed by pressing it to turn off.

Perfect for working with bees at night
As a beekeeper I use these to see when transporting bees as night. Bees can't see red light wavelengths and these work beautifully for this purpose. After removing bees from a home, we leave them in their new hive body to collect the remaining foragers and then return after dark to collect the hive and transport it to the apiary. These lights are PERFECT for seeing in the dark and not disturbing or attracting bees to the light. I've worked into the night using these and it keeps them from bothering me or attacking the light like a traditional flashlight. If you're a beekeeper looking for a good red light, these are it. They've small, fit in any pocket, and I like that the aluminum body is colored red so I know right away that it's my red light. Also works well when inspecting in attics prior to removals. These would also work well from astronomy, to preserve night vision.

Good enough for the price. The half-press mode switch works poorly.
It's a cheap flashlight. It basically works but the quality of the rear push switches is poor. It can change modes if you shake it. I bought two and they are both the same. I'd gladly pay 2X more for better quality. But for the price, not bad.I use this with Eneloop rechargeable batteries and get about 2 hours per charge. These 1.2-volt batteries produce enough light to light up a path so I don't trip but not enough light to harm night vision. These little red flashlights are good for close-up lighting up to about 5 to 10 feet. They are brighter with different battery but for my use, 1.2 volts is about right.I just wish the switches would work better

Dirty Battery Contacts
The light seems solid and is bright. The switch between flash/bright/low beam is too easy to press, making for some startling light shows when you don't want them. The worst thing is that both lights had very dirty (greasy?) battery contacts. Seems like that would increase the chances of early corrosion or fire risk.

Seem good so far
They work. Strong enough - in construction and brightness.I’ve only used them a couple of times, gently.Either one or both of my pair had an issue of over sensitive button... causing the first button press to give you a flickering light instead of a steady light. Requiring a double click to get a normal beam. But for the price, it’s A small inconvenience. How it’s supposed to work:First press is supposed to be full power steady beamSecond press is flickeringThird press low power beam option

These don't last long
These were great at first, just what I'd hoped for. However, after 6 months, one stopped working with any 14500 lithium ion battery. The second one stopped working with any 14500 lithium ion battery after 1 year. They still work with AA batteries, but they're not as bright and I bought these because I could use lithium ion batteries in them.
