Can someone who has used this to tape a rug onto a carpet please share insight on how well it works and if I ruins the carpet that the rug sticks to?

When we moved homes, my S.O. & I defined our family room from dining room with new area rugs over wall-to-wall. We put this tape down between the carpet & rugs to prevent the rugs sliding and contorting. The tape did not anchor the rugs ; and it left an obstinate cement that we had to unpick, strand by strand, from the carpet.

How to delete it？
