Madeline and the Old House in Paris

This is by the grandson of the original offer. It's a great companion to Madeline and the Bad Hat since it features Pepito. My only negative was that the story is a bit grim about a ghost and how he died, but much of the series has a lot of grim plot points so maybe it's intentional. Either way our 4 year old likes the series and it's a change or pace from Disney.

While my child seems to prefer three of the original Madeline books (Madeline's Rescue, The Bad Hat, and Madeline's Christmas) this was my favorite as a parent who reads along. This is definitely worth reading if you enjoy the original Madeline books.

My 3 year old daughter LOVED this book when we rented from the library so I purchased as a gift for her 4th birthday so she could have her own to keep. This was her first Madeline book ever. She loved the ghost story and was intrigued by the ghost's death tale, haha. She's very into goosebumps, scooby doo and ghostbusters so this was a hit. The illustrations are fun and beautiful and the characters are timeless. Perfect addition to our reading collection.

I'm so happy the Madeline stories are continuing. Great fun. And with a sense of panche!
