The mechanical construction is not great, but considering the low price, it is acceptable.The temperature distribution across the working area is close to catastrophic. There is only a 10x10 centimeters area at the center of the drawer that can be used. At a 250 degrees setting, standard 60/40 solder (183 deg. melting point) will not even liquify at the edges of the working area.The push buttons are not de-bounced, and their response is sluggish with no tactile feeling at all.The product may be useable for a hobbyist, but for any serious manufacturing, avoid it.Still, I give it 3 out of 5 due to the low price.On a positive note, the purchase procedure worked flawlessly. Ordering and payment was straight forward, and the delivery was much faster than advertised with no transport damage. 5 stars to Amazon.Best regardsRostec Engineering

For the price this is not bad at all. The firmware that this is shipped with is really really bad though, so I just had to do something about that. An alternative open-source firmware for the T-962 is the result. Details can be found here: https://github.com/UnifiedEngineering/T-962-improvements . That link also deals with another flaw of the oven - the lack of cold-junction compensation and some workarounds for that.

This shipped much faster than I thought it would. I have not used it yet, but I have ran some test cycles and the smell that everyone complains about does not seem that bad to me. I saw all the bad reviews and looked on the internet and saw there was plenty of workaround that other users have came up with if my experiences are the same. For the price of $225 I think it is a good buy.Randy
