The perfect motorcycle accessories lock
I bought this lock for a 4 day ride on my Suzuki Vstrom, and it was perfect. The instructions for setting my combination were simple and I had it set in less than 2 minutes. My combo worked first time/every time from then on. The lock and cable have a coating on them to protect the bike so I now just leave it on the bike even when I'm not using it. I used the lock on my trip in two ways. First, the main lock was used for my helmet. But I also ran the coiled cable through the handles of my soft luggage tailbag to avoid a "grab and run." I probably had room to lock my jacket too if I'd stretched the cable full out, but I never tried that so I'm not sure. As far as other reviewers' concerns: I rode through rain for a full day of my ride and the lock combo/mechanism worked just as smoothly as before my trip. Concerns about the ability of thieves to defeat the lock, let me say this: this is a light/medium duty lock. Don't lock your wife's diamond ring with this. A thief with a couple of large crowbars and midsize cable cutter could defeat this lock/cable. But more heavy duty locks are not realistic for quick lock/unlock situations on a motorcycle. This stops the "opportunity thief" and also adds significant time to an even more determined one. Bottom line is that this lock does exactly what it says it will do at a very fair price, with the added benefit of not having another key to carry around.

Good Snowboard Lock
Easy and compact snowboard lock. I keep it in my pocket and lock up my board to the rack when I go inside for overpriced food and beer. Not super strong or anything, but will definitely deter crimes of convenience/opportunity ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

A good lock: solid and lightweight
UPDATE: I contacted the company, and they offered to sent me a replacement. I even made a deal with them that they would refund me double my money if I could defeat the replacement lock as easily as the old one. I liked the confidence, so I decided to go for it instead of just asking for a straight up refund. I’m glad I did! It’s MUCH TOUGHER NOW! I don’t know when they changed the design, or if I just had a defective one. But I can’t open the new one by hand. I found another one in my closet that I forgot I purchased that also appears to be robust. So, again, either they changed the design – could have been quite a while ago now – or I just got a bad one. Either way. I rescind my original rating and give it 4 stars for what it is. It ain’t Fort Knox, but the current locks they are shipping cannot be defeated by hand. They’re lightweight and useful for locking your stuff up in relatively safe areas. I would only rely on it to keep opportunistic thieves at bay, but I’m impressed with the current build quality. I’m going to leave my original review, but I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this to people now. And the company responded very quickly to my email. I’m attaching an updated video. I wish Amazon would allow me to include both videos, but the first one just showed me opening the old and/or defective lock with my bare hands. I have two newer locks that seem to be much more robust. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I bought one of these helmet locks about a year ago. I just came back to my bike a little bit ago and the code I’ve been using for a year had stopped working. I tried my regular combination, 000, and all the digits on either side of the three digits I’d chosen for my code. Nothing worked. Eventually, I just opened the thing with my bare hands. This was great because it allowed me to retrieve my helmet and ride home. But it was also really horrible because it means the helmet lock is COMPLETELY INSECURE. I’ve attached a video showing how easy it is to defeat the lock. This product should be immediately taken off the market and all the ones already in use should be recalled.

Sturdy lock
This lock is well made and sturdy. The cable is similar to a bike lock cable in terms of thickness. I like that it came with a small carrying pouch so I can put it in my tail bag. It was easy to get configured with the lock code and does the job as needed. Definitely recommend if looking for a lightweight, yet durable lock.

Easy to use, easy to store.
I ride a 2009 GoldWing. I just used this device to lock down my helmet and bags while on a motorcycle trip from San Diego, CA to Durango, Colorado and another trip to northern California. I only use it when I'm leaving my stuff unattended at a store, gas station, or restroom stop. I don't expect that it will stop someone with bolt or cable cutters, but for that matter, someone could theoretically lift up my entire bike and take it home in their truck. It's not intended for that. It will definitely prevent that walk-by jerk who might want to grab your helmet, jacket, or bags. It comes with a storage pouch and would easily fit in your jacket pocket or anywhere you want to store it on your bike. The cable stretches out far enough to get just about anything you would ever need to secure. I'm very satisfied with the product. I trust it for my own use and I think it's a great gift for anyone you know who rides. I already bought a second one as a gift and I'm looking at my Christmas list for other people too.

Changing lock combination is easy.
I received the carabiner cable lock a day before schedule delivery. Cable lock came with a very nice case to keep it secured. The instructions -to change factory combination- were easy and simple to follow. Case looks durable. I recently purchased two matching ILM modular helmets (thru Amazon Prime) and needed a good cable locking device to prevent theft of these helmets. I really was impressed with this The company sent an email to make sure I received the carabiner locking device as promised. I hope they have some stuff for a Polaris Slingshot. A 10% discount coupon was included with the lock. If you need a helmet locking device- get this one. A good price and a great value.

Numbers are so shiny, it is difficult to read the in low light or if you wear reading glasses. You have to move around the lock to a position where you see them properly.

As seen on the picture and on my instagram profile (@greek.rider) this is a great little lock for your helmet. It does three things nicely; (a) secures the helmet in position so it doesn't accidentally fall off the bike, (b) super light and easy to carry with you all the time; (c) secures your helmet with enough protection to stop someone from trying to mess with your helmet. For a day out with the bike where you just stop for a coffee or a snack or even a swim and you don't want to carry your helmet with you, it is ideal. Will I leave my bike and helmet unattended in a 'dodgy area' for many many hours...no!

I paid the extra for this version out of several broadly similar ones on sale because it was recommended by MCN. Frankly, it's disappointing. I could cut the cable easily with a decent pair of wire cutters, and the shackle lock looks like I could spring it open with very little leverage indeed. No lightweight lock will keep a thief out for long in this day of cordless angle grinders, but this is one of the few times in my life I've regretted purchasing a lock. I won't send it back because it is more or less "as described" and I will put it down to experience. My background: 30 years of riding a bike, and many years as an insurance claims assessor dealing with theft. Slightly embarrassed that I believed the review rather than my own experience.
