Feeling a little let down
I’m just super bummed. I LOVED with every fiber of my being Sarah’s Gentle Discipline. It’s like my parenting bible. But this book just really really fell short for me. I read the first part of the book and was so confused. I feel like I left without any actual tools given to me to “potty train” my child. I did find the trouble shooting ideas at the end helpful, but if I don’t know what I’m doing in the first place it doesn’t help much to troubleshoot. I feel like I must be missing something... Sarah is my favorite. But this fell short for me, maybe I had too high of expectations.

Really helpful book
My daughter started wanting to use the potty just before she turned 2, which was earlier than I expected so I wasn’t prepared! She was doing it on her own for the most part, but I wanted some guidance on how to proceed without pressuring her. This book was very helpful- it’s a quick read and easy read, and potty training following her advice has gone really smoothly!

A gentle method that works!
My husband and I loved this book! It really focuses on making sure your child is ready for potty training and gives very helpful signs of readiness. The method is simple though it does take parental dedication (minimum of 3 days at home dedicated to creating a solid potty training foundation). We followed the method and when our daughter returned to school (on a Friday) she had zero accidents! She does have about 1-2 accidents a day, which is to be expected, but she is about 80/20 to 90/10 in the potty after just a week! The key is to listen to your child and with the help of this book our girl is wearing underwear with no need for training pants in between. Highly recommend Sarah Ockwell-Smith and her methods!

Super easy read, super successful method!
We LOVED this book! It worked so well for our so , who was ready, even when I wasn’t! My husband bought and read the book and went full force, exactly how Sara recommends, and our son was fully trained in a week with very little fight, no tears, and mostly excitement and celebration! Can’t recommend it enough!

Excellent book!
This book is easy to read and understand! Helps set realistic expectations, tips on how to start, what to do/not to do. My 2.5 yo son was 100% trained in 5 days using this method! It was a stress free, exciting process for us both!

Loved the book, excellent!
Aaamazing book.I've heard million stories, "proper" ways to potty train etc. that only got me feeling frustrated about potty training my now 2.5 year old. Then I somehow stumbled upon Sarah on Instagram where I heard about the GENTLE potty training she wrote. The word gentle is what got my attention and everything in the book resonated with me, and my way of parenting in general so I decided to give it a go. I read half a book up until nighttime training at first and started potty training my son right away, and so far it's a success. It's been about a month since we started and he's had only a few accidents in the first few days and maybe few occasional once since. He still asks for me to undress and dress him up afterwards but initiates going to the potty I'd say 90% of the time, the other 10% I see the sign(s) that he's ready so I ask him nicely and sometimes he goes, sometimes he doesn't right away, but then he asks to go himself few mins later.I followed Sarah's step by step suggestions/instructions. My favourite part was bare bottoms for a couple of days (I think that sped up the process immensely), even though my in-laws who were staying with us at the time thought I was weird or nuts to what I just laughed and ignored them and did what Sarah said and voila, no pee on the floor or carpet or anywhere other than potty and abit around the potty ;) boys thing. All in all an amazing book. I just finished the whole book, and chapter 6 is beyond useful, so much information about pee and poo in general and issues with both (that I have experienced and learned the hard way dealing with constipation with my little one since early on). I only wish I read this book 2.5 years ago, it would've made my life alot less stressful during those constipated days.I would recommend it to everyone thinking about potty training, in the middle of it or done with it, as it has so much useful information beyond potty training.
